Episode 8 Afterword:
In the wake of Friday's session and our discovery that the fraking troll has pursued us, we (the PCs) need to decide if we tell Sir Weland about the puzzle box thingy...

Looks like JW Barrett is going to make a reappearance. ;D So, for a little creative exercise, I figure I'll put the question to the Players instead—"What happened to him?" I'll probably have to edit, of course, but let's see if you guys can come up with something cool. Of course, since this is here on the boards, it'll probably only be Rigil that contributes So, if that happens, I'll give him an extra CP. If everyone contributes, maybe I'll do something for everyone—who knows?

Heh. Since he was in the boat with us when the big ass tidal wave hit, the logical assumption is that the undertow just took him in a different direction than we went. Perhaps he's been running and hiding from that damned troll (ala Arnold with the mud in the first Predator movie)?
Interesting question, though: since he hasn't been inducted into the Wizard's Order like the rest of us, is that going to be a problem?

Can the troll detect the "troll rope"? 'cause if so, then it makes perfect sense for that damned thing to always been on his ass just when he thought he'd lost the bastard...

Still waiting for other players to chime in with an opinion regarding this question ... which I admit might be a foolish hope. Come on, people. well i still haven't interacted with Sir Weland. So I don't know if I trust him or not. But if the character has started to trust him and the players who were there think it is a good idea, then I am all for it.

Yeah, I'd forgotten that you missed the previous ep. He seems to be on the up and up thus far, I think, but I'd prefer a unanimous decision to move ahead or not.
@ GM: What's the GURPS equivalent of Sense Motive? To discern whether someone is being truthful?

Would you rather tell him about the box and move forward that direction, or play the mystery and wait to see a sign of trustworthiness? In the former case, perhaps I/we can think of or tweak something he may have done already to gain your trust, or in the latter case, determine what it would take in the future, so I can work it in. Make the call…

Well, since this is a "crappy television show," you could always hand out the Idiot Ball to somebody...
So far, he's been a stand up dude to us, so I'd vote for taking a chance and trusting him with knowledge of the box. But that's just me.
Also, Awesome is going to be spending some time with the archers to start getting familiar with a bow again. Like Sam, he was a Boy Scout (Eagle, no doubt, because everything he does is Awesome), so he probably needs to just re-familiarize himself with a bow (Archery merit badge.)

I do have the detect lies skill, For one I do not trust him completely yet. I would like to start using detect lies to see if we can trust him enough before we move forward and tell him we have the box.

I would like to start using detect lies to see if we can trust him enough before we move forward and tell him we have the box. You can go ahead and give me a roll, here, for last week—spent a few days with him, in his natural habitat; should've gotten an impression or two. For that matter, anyone who wants to make a default roll here can, if you don't have the aforementioned skills, or have something appropriate. Detect Lies, Body Language, AD:Empathy (or related), Per-5.

I'm okay as a player with moving on and letting him see the box. As for the character, he will need to think he can trust him first.
Detect lies (perception of 16-5)=11 [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6]
looks like I just make it.[rand=3924531395535602823801680563814380483647895060336527353121871664]

G-Mann, remember the whole bow thing. Probly won't come up in this episode, but I'm bearing it in mind. looks like I just make it. Over the last few days, you detected no insincerity from Sir Weland, and got the general impression that he's a stand-up guy. Is there anything the GM needs from ... those of us who actually bother logging in and posting for tomorrow? Time. Inspiration. Independent income. Etc.

Episode 9 Afterword:Firstly, it occurred to me that I should have been doing a "Next Week On…" thing all along. So here it is now: Secondly, the GM really did not have time (or mental capacity at the time, for whatever reason) to do justice to Sir Exposition's ( ) account of the Fairy Truce, so I expand a bit here:

Aggravated Damage:Best I can tell from my research into the matter, the fact that some damage is considered "Aggravated" is pretty much just a "feature," and not any special mechanical consideration—so, from this point, any extra damage caused directly by Quickening Abilities (Striking ST being a decent example) will be considered Aggravated to another Immortal (and possibly other WoD types, as appropriate), and will heal as a normal wound. "Sparking" is a special effect of this damage. In the case of Striking ST, we need to keep the "extra" damage separated from the regular, so we can determine how much of it is Aggravated (when it matters).
I suppose you could "upgrade" the Regeneration Trait to partially or fully eliminate this.

Well, this is gonna suck. I'm going to be the only one without a laptop on Friday. BTW, gigermann - can you print out a copy of my character from the PDF in the Gun Show thread? My hardcopy is out of date and I've been using the laptop during the game ...
Sigh.

My hardcopy is out of date and I've been using the laptop during the game ... Sigh. I've got your last update here, so I can print that—unless you've adjusted something. On a lighter note… Sir Weland showed up in the morning of Day 11 at the end of Episode 9. Episode 10 will start on Day 12, so there's a little over 24 hours of downtime between them. Only info to add is that Drogo's body was quietly buried outside town, and nobody wants to talk about it. If anybody has anything they want their characters to be doing for the day, say so.

Well, I just printed to PDF from GCA and uploaded that PDF ... and it's the same thing as what you've got I think.
As to 24 hours of downtime, Awesome is going to work out (awesomely), then try to get one of the archers to refresh his muscle memory regarding use of a Bow (since it's been a long time since he was in the Scouts ... hey, maybe that's where he & Sam first met?) He'll probably also spend some time wandering around the village and maybe trying to work on deciphering both the language and working on increasing his Tracking skill.
