It's Centurion ... and he doesn't advertise this fact since he's from an alternate future. Give me lottery numbers for next Wednesday! See this is hard to determine proper attitudes before I get a feel for the characters in-game... I assumed Legionary would be kinda a goody two shoes, holier than thou kinda person... is this not the case?

LG vs CG—simple. Or is Legionary not LG? Most of the time, probably. As indicated by his history, though, he has little problem breaking the law if necessary, so I'd probably lean toward him being Neutral Good with Lawful tendencies. Give me lottery numbers for next Wednesday! Alternate future. Not really my plan. Mostly, I'm aiming toward him leading by example and less by words. The Superman analog - Centurion - was from an alternate timeline himself where the Roman Empire/Republic never fell, so he was raised with that "service for the greater good" mindset, which is basically how I'm going to approach Legionary. Plus? He's now got an kinda/sorta pseudo-romance with a Bad Girl going on in the background, which doesn't work for ultra strict Lawful Good. If you're concerned that Legionary is going to be a Paladin, that's not the case. I've coordinated with zenwolf regarding some background elements and he's more ... world-weary than anything else. He has really old eyes...

If that is the case, I would probably move him to mild like.... you're essentially the leader of the group, right? That will prevent you from climbing too high, too quick in my book of best buddies...

As far as StormSurge is concerned, did I get all the characters you need.. are they correct? What do you mean? Which suburb, Bayview or Kingston? Do you have access to the Freedom city sourcebook? There is a map and a description of the various neighborhoods. And I may have misspoke earlier I think Justicar is in Lincoln and Maverick is from Southside. See this is hard to determine proper attitudes before I get a feel for the characters in-game... Sorry, it wasn't my intention for you guys to start listing them just yet. I just wanted everybody to be thinking about it. The group started off as a bunch of solo heroes with no connections, so I am trying to right that ship.

I'm just not sure I have who all the PCs are... just making sure I am considering all the people I need to consider since I don't have any actual gameplay under my belt with this campaign and I am a little unsure of things... Which suburb, Bayview or Kingston? Do you have access to the Freedom city sourcebook? There is a map and a description of the various neighborhoods. Gotcha, will look it up sometime soon and get back to you on that Sorry, it wasn't my intention for you guys to start listing them just yet. I just wanted everybody to be thinking about it. Whoops, sorry Ignore that post then, and I will reconsider all of my listings and tweak them as we get into the campaign

I'm thinking the outskirts of Hanover, away from the student living sections, more into the rural area, but with close reach to some of the more techy places since StormSurge would be doing a lot of cutting edge research and would probably need some equipment / advice from time to time from other professionals

+1 Power Point to Gigermann for his help organizing the forums and his continuing efforts in that regard.

zenwolf: I have a question regarding the Battlesuit and the power array. As an old school Iron Man reader, it occurred to me that he had a tendency to have very specialized suits of armor when necessary. Got an adventure that takes you into Outer Space? There's a "suit" for that. How about needing to be a sneaky bugger? There's a "suit" for that? Fighting underwater? There's a "suit" for that. Which leads me to my question: how would we replicate something like that in terms of Legionary since he's a battlesuit guy? My initial thought would be to save different versions of the Hero Lab file (sort of like "Legionary, Prime." "Legionary, Stealth." "Legionary, Space.") and then effectively rebuild the battlesuit Device per version (so the stealth version might have Invisibility, but won't fly as quickly or be as strong, and so on.) That said, I don't know if there is a precedent anywhere for this in the various rule books and I wanted to see if this was something you had some thoughts on...

Basically you will take the drawback (normal Identity) 5 points or 6( I will get back to you on that. It will take 5 minutes to switch armors in the base(your sanctum sanctorum I am assuming).
Each separate suit would be a 1 point alternate power.

Okay. Cool. I'm not entirely sure if I will go there - with the alternate suits, that is - but that definitely gives me something to work with. I actually already have the Normal Identity drawback, but I don't know how many points its worth & only have HeroLab on my laptop... @labrrat, I know you are busy, but at some point you should look up "metamorpho" to get a feel for the sorts of things you can use your powers for. This ... this kind of worries me. I thought LabRat requested this kind of a character knowing what it was capable of ... but based on this comment (and I would be happy to be wrong here) it seems like there isn't a lot of comprehension about the kind of character. Is it just me or are some of us getting too hung up on rules and not on character? We should each (individually) figure out what kind of character we want to have and then make the rules work for us, not the other way around. But I could be wrong here...

I thought LabRat requested this kind of a character knowing what it was capable of ... but based on this comment (and I would be happy to be wrong here) it seems like there isn't a lot of comprehension about the kind of character. I didn't really word my comment that well, i probably should have said something like "for inspiration in regards to the creative use of your powers you should try to look at some examples of what metamorpho has done" From my understanding she doesn't have much of a reference point as far as comics go, so it was also a bit of an exercise in genre familiarization. Perhaps we are getting hung up on rules, and if this is so I agree that that needs to change. Although in regards to their character creation I have invested a fair amount of time and effort into trying to get the stats/rules to match up with their concept as I understand it. If I have missed something or have gone astray, someone please let me know. My main goal as a GM is for all of you to have fun. ;D

For some reason, I totally missed this part of the thread so sorry that I haven't commented on it yet. And yes, you're right in suggesting an avatar of sorts for what my character can do in relation to a comic book environment. I mean I have plenty of ideas on how to use her talents, but its nice to look at an already fleshed out example to get additional perspective. As far as Catalyst is concerned, she looks peachy-keen and I'm excited to use her during the campaign.

A couple of things: - For those that I haven't played in a game of mine before (or those that have but may have forgotten), I like to do "sideplots", which are basically a chance for you to explore different aspects of your character or background. At some point I will look at each of you and say "What are you doing now?" or something similar. This is your opportunity to explore that. Now in order for me to facilitate a better experience for you it would help for me to know the likely avenues of your exploration. Some of you I already have ideas for and some of you I really don't know what you want to do with the character's "solo time".
So, this is me formally requesting 3 "goals" Perfectly optional, of course, but if I don't know I am either going to create something on my own or wing it(this being the most likely option). If that is okay with you then don't worry about it, but let me know you are abstaining.
- If we could get the PDFs up for Legionary, Justicar and Maverick in the "The Initiative" thread that would be great. I want to be able to look at your stats since I don't have access to them.
- Kudos to Rigel on the pics. Very cool!

Gigermann actually did the pics for me so he rightfully deserves the kudos. I just had to pick actors. PDF is up. Three goals: - Continue his research into the White Event that claimed his timeline so as to prevent it from happening here.
- Figure out what Medea's goals and objectives are (I'm going to try and have that second fic finished before Friday)
- Continue research into the nanites within his body that have rendered him effectively immortal to determine if they can be directed toward other applications.

In the off-time, The Justiciar spends his time: - Patrolling the rooftops of the low-town for petty crimes to "avenge-in-progress"
- Keeps an eye out for what's-her-name (the catburglaress), to catch her up & clear himself of blame for her operations (I spose there's no reason I shouldn't update his "enemies"); actively tracks her if a lead presents itself
- Remotely checks in on Raines to make sure he isn't planning something needing foiling
- Goes to car-shows, and underground races (the one criminal activity he specifically won't bother about)
- Catches up w/ the "friends list" (Gets drinks at Axel's bar, gets the (other) car worked on at Monk's garage, hits the doughnut/coffee shop w/ Banks, etc.)
- Mostly sleeps during the day

During alone time StormSurge spends his time alone, in his modest house with shed... working on the mysteries that the Taranisians are giving him insight to. I know this seems like a very limited existence, but since he was given the powers, he has been focused heavily on inventing and researching. Only coming out of the shed to help his team...

A little past "tomorrow," eh? I plan on flying around the world backwords so I am not late Not much for me to work with there. So you are just going to be talking Qat'el? Do you have a personality in mind for him? Have you thought any more about the details of his civilization or anything along those lines? Sorry for the vagueness... Qat'el is very much in an advisory role if StormSurge gets stuck on one of the project required to give rebirth to the Taranisian people... There isn't any real 'personality' at all with him, just a general calm assurance and advice when stuck.... StormSurge is kind of a 'reluctant hero', in that he never desired to be a superhero, but now that he has these powers, he feels obligated to do some good to prevent evil from taking over... and when he is not crime fighting he is trying to give rebirth to the Taranisian people... as his nano-bots repair him, he doesn't require much sleep or sustenance... So you would find him in his shed, working on some science stuff which will allow the a new Taranisian race to be grown, and the technology to send them out in to space to find a new place to settle... Better?
