Here is the Team as it is currently made up. Text in this color indicates that the Characters are unaware of this fact.- The Commander – Augur Saudreez, a human male Noble 5, played by Xenocore. He grew up on the rimworld of Gelgelar, the third son of subsistence farmers. His parents want nothing to do with him, and both of his older brothers despised him primarily due to his desire to just have fun; they Marooned him on the far side of Gelgelar, although that turned out to be for the best as it led to him getting offworld. He has a younger sister, who hero-worships him.
- The Pilot – Ondo Traelark, a human male Jedi 3/Scout 2, played by Zenwolf. He and his master were on an diplomatic mission for the Republic to once more open up relations with the otherwise closed off Hapes Consortium, but were caught up in political intrigue. During the course of their attempts to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict, Ondo met and was immediately entranced with a young Hapan noblewoman who was pledged to a merchant prince; the two eventually eloped and, realizing that they were in love, Ondo’s master returned to the Jedi Council with a wild tale of how his padawan died heroically fighting Hapan pirates. The two eventually arrived on Gelgelar where they eke out a living; Ondo befriended Augur and followed the man off-world to find better paying work.
- The Muscle – Brody Bric, a human male Soldier 5, played by Magman. Born on Coruscant, he grew up in the lower class undercity, with his dysfunctional mother and abusive stepfather (who left him with a permanent Scar as a reminder of the terrible upbringing.) He has an older step-sister and a younger step-brother, both of whom were his constant rivals. To get off-planet, he enlisted with the First Sun Mobile Regiment, a mercenary unit gearing up in obvious anticipation that the political conflict between Count Dooku’s Separatist movement and the Republic will become a military one; Brody quickly learned that the life of a soldier was not for him due to the strict discipline, which led to him deserting. After abandoning the FSMR, he eventually found himself on Nar Shadda, the Vertical City and capital of the Hutts, where he spent several years working as an enforcer for several Hutts. He is currently a ‘person of interest’ to the Desilijic Hutt clan for skimming a little off the top…
- The Fixer – Jor’dira, a Rutian Twi’lek male Scoundrel 5, played by thedefiantbudah. He grew up on Ryloth with his working-class adopted father; his real father was powerless to help him after the dissolution of their marriage. Jo’s mother was a dancer (or slave, depending upon how one defines it) and was away for months or years at a time. He has a younger sister. At some point in his past, Jor’dira lost his non-dominant hand in an accident, and had it replaced with a cybernetic prosthesis.
- The Slicer – 8T33, a second-class droid scoundrel 3/nonheroic 3/independent droid 1, played by Gigermann. Currently, this droid is owned by Quat Ralto, the first officer aboard the Bright Seeker, a modified mining/scout ship owned by Captain Nils Wender. Exactly how Ralto acquired the droid is a matter of some debate, as the stories he spins are invariably different each time. What Ralto does not reveal is that he stole the droid from a man he later discovered to have close links to the Hutts; he is also unaware that 8T33 had been used primarily as a bookkeeping admin droid for the man who was a ‘facilitator’ – thus, the droid had intimate knowledge of all sorts of criminal endeavors … and there are many who would kill to know what 8T33 knows.
Let me know if this stuff doesn't fit or if I screwed something up.

While I know that its pretty early to begin thinking about this, WxMAN, I wanted to just ask if you had any thoughts about the kind of character you'd like to play. I recognize that you're not a big Star Wars fan, and the prequel era really isn't all that fantastic, but don't think of it as SW - think of it as sci-fi, like Firefly if you will. Just a character archetype is fine at the moment.
No Jedi though.

I'll think about it... I do enjoy star wars (at least the old ones), just not a geek about it like I am with star trek I will read over what all is the storyline and try to find a character archetype to mesh well with the group and be a fun addition as well

Tres cool. As long as its not that esoteric, I think we'll be okay ... especially if your exposure is mostly limited to the movies. That makes it easier when selecting a species (in John Crichton's immortal words: humans are superior! ), but ultimately, it just boils down to what you want to do. Wanna play a gunslinger? Go for it. An on-the-run doctor? Groovy. A kid from a fringe planet who jumped at the chance to get off his nowhere plan? It's all good. And trust me: even SW fans like me will admit that the prequels kind of stunk.

Hey Rigil, Shelley and I have just been starting to pick through the RCR (is that the correct version we are playing?)... and we were wondering what is a typical setting for this kind of campaign... are we going to be in tight corridors? outdoors? urban street to street fighting? with what frequency? I'm just concerned about making a character who is a 'sniper' or 'meleer' and then being constantly in situations which the character is made essentially useless...

Hey Rigil, Shelley and I have just been starting to pick through the RCR (is that the correct version we are playing?)... No. We're using the Saga rules, which is a streamlined version of the RCR. It uses some 4E rules, but is pretty similar to Pathfinder in a lot of ways. Think "Firefly" in the Star Wars universe. Yes. Yes. Yes. All three, pretty regularly. Plus? Ship-to-ship combat as appropriate. I'm pretty sure we hit every single one of those in the last story arc.

BTW, did you two have some sort of character archetype already in mind?

We're working on it. We went through the basics last night to figure out our characters. Hoping to have something pretty well fleshed out by Friday. The way I design a character, I have a general idea of what I want, then looking into the skills/feats/equip to see if I can build something effective and if not, then I scrap it and figure out something new... Right now we are both at the 'looking into the skills/feats/equip' step

Some really quick notes: - Characters are 5th level, but begin play with the funds of a 1st level character (times are really tough.)
- We're not using the Destiny mechanic from the Saga rules, but rather the Background mechanic from the Rebellion era sourcebook. I have that mechanic in simple PDF format, but its too big to attach here on the boards. I'll look at finding another way to get it to you.
- If you don't have an idea about the character's background, specifically in regards to providing me with story hooks, do like everyone else did and do an auto-generated background. Gigermann has an online generator for that sort of thing which I'll find the link and attach to this thread.

Email always works... Also do I write my background/story from an unerring omniscient perspective or from the character's perspective?

Character's perspective is always better - leaves lots of holes open for GM use since the character isn't always a reliable narrator. Where he may perceive being picked on by Character X, the truth might be that he deserved it. The random background generator Gigermann created is here. Mostly, everybody used it, then either posted the results somewhere or PMed them to me. Don't have your email address. PM it to me or shoot me one at rigil.kent01@gmail.com, and I'll send you the Background mechanic PDF.

Got the email. What would really help is to kind of know what each character is built for (both combat wise and outside combat) so we can avoid overlapping talents too badly... The brief character descriptions only help so much...

Done. Click on the names of the characters in the first post on this thread & you'll see their PDFs. Ignore the XP listed because its not right.
