Seriously, I need/crave/require feedback from you slackers. In order to make the game more fun, I need to know what I've done right, what I've done wrong, and what you haven't seen but want to see. And do.
Quick recap thus far:
Adventure 1: Lost Destiny
Adventure 2: The Mecetti File
Adventure 3: 3000 Light Years to Coruscant.
Adventure 4: One Night on Gelgelar, Pt 1
Adventure 5: One Night on Gelgelar, Pt 2
Adventure 6: Tempest Feud – A Hutt’s Best Hope, Part 1
Quick recap thus far:
Adventure 1: Lost Destiny
- PCs all serving aboard the Bright Seeker under CAPT Nils Wender in Tapani Sector.
- Wender arranges an exploratory mission to map out new hyper-routes.
- Seeker is set upon by a "privateer" claiming to be part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, but narrowly escape by making an emergency hyper-jump.
- Discover the Regal Destiny, a House Pelagia ship lost for 30 years.
- Venture aboard and fight Crimson Slugs before discovering the true wealth on the ship: the carbonite encased children of House Pelagia believed dead.
- Things get wonky. The XO of the Seeker - Quat Ralto - is murdered, and the characters quickly discover that the man responsible is Janos Marsh, the ship's computer guy.
- A firefight ensues between Janos, Augur and Brody that culminates in Janos falling.
- The Knife's Edge, the privateer from earlier, makes a return sometime after the Heroes have convinced CAPT Wender to call House Pelagia for assistance. While the Seeker hides in the nebula, the Edge docks with the Destiny, then begins looking for the Seeker who now have the carbonited kids.
- Pelagia reinforcements show up and pound the Knife into running away. Marines later board the Seeker ... where CAPT Wender (and the rest of the crew) is promptly arrested for a murder he (Wender) did sometime back.
Adventure 2: The Mecetti File
- For twenty days, the characters languish in jail, waiting for their day in court, only to have the case against them thrown out immediately. Now trapped on Procopia, they try to find a way off-world.
- Following a lead of Brody's, they try to find an old associate of his, Trel Modetto, but instead stumble into some sort of gangland execution after following the directions given to them by Directory Assisstance.
- After a short, but brutal fight, they decide to flee the scene of the crime (since, after all, they were just let out of prison a few hours ago!) and, while evading the police, redouble their efforts to find Modetto.
- This ultimately leads them to a diner named The Hungry Herglic, where another group of thugs attack. A second group shows up and helps the characters escape from certain death.
- The leader of this group is a woman named Coros Telari, and she tells them that she is working for House Pelagia and the thugs belong to House Mecetti.
- After a bit of discussion, she convinces the characters to help her retrieve some data from the starship they were directed to earlier (by her.) Much sneaking is involved, and the characters pounce on the thugs trying to break in the ship while Coros sneaks aboard somehow. The battle goes ill for the thugs ...
- But Coros has vanished! And here comes the local law enforcement, led by the Sector Ranger - Trevor Jotane - who arrested the crew with Nils Wender. It's back to jail for the heroes...
Adventure 3: 3000 Light Years to Coruscant.
- A week or so after being arrested, the characters are released once more, with Ranger Jotane revealing that they can't find a scrap of information on this Telari person but the entire escaped reeks of House poitics.
- The crew are still stranded on Procopia though, and spend the next month or so trying to get off-worl.
- When word of the Gambling Extravaganza at the Avrosi Casino reaches them, they decide to go for broke and spend the last of their money getting inside.
- At the entryway, they meet Phino Adoca, who helps them out with the entry fee (which was jacked up thanks to the damned Republic), before wishing them good luck.
- Apparently, it works, as Augur cleans out Sir Ajax Wennel, winning the lordling's starship and earning an immediate enemy.
- While celebrating their good fortune with Phino, they meet his date, a plain-looking woman named Suir Kenaas. It seems like starcrossed love...
- Until Brody, while returning from the bathroom, witnesses a interlude between Suir and a waiter that implies she is up to no good! He tries to warn Phino, but the pudgy starship engineer takes it poorly, and stalks off.
- As the crew try to locate him, the casino goes dark and robbers dressed in Jedi robes (but using blaster carbines) storm in! The crew promptly smack around some of these thugs, arm themselves, and then stumble upon a scarred waiter pulling a body from a case ... and the body is none other than Phino!
- After a quick firefight, they are able to determine that the body is a force-grown clone, not the real Phino, and 8T33 (hidden away in a room) is able to locate where Suir took Phino.
- Unwilling to wait for the security types to intervene and believing they are out of time, the crew races to the this room ... only to discover that she is prepared for them!
- A shaped charge at the foot of the door detonates, injuring them, and when they enter the room, she has several other defenses waiting, Brody topples, and Suir retreats through the window ... and down to the next leve!
- His blood up, Augur pursues ... and then, so does Ondo, but both decide against proceeding much farther due to the danger involved.
- A SWAT team, led by Ranger Jotane, storms the room (there was an explosion, after all, and he is disgusted to see the crew once more.
- And yet again, they find themselves tossed into jail...
Adventure 4: One Night on Gelgelar, Pt 1
- Desperate to get this miscreants off his planet, Ranger Jotane pulls some strings and expedites the paperwork establishing that Augur is now the captain of the Exeter. He sends a police escort with the crew to make sure they actually leave.
- Which they do. Gladly.
- Some 12 days later, they arrive on the craptastic planet of Gelgelar - Brody hates it at once - where they sell off some of the minimal cargo that was aboard the Exeter.
- Ondo disappears to find his wife, while Brody heads for the sole cantina in the free port where he meets an attractive young bartender with whom he finds an instant connection. It's only later, when Augur enters, that Brody realizes this young lady is Augur's sister, Meelaan. Not that this discourages Brody...
- An unexpected business opportunity is placed before Augur when Ondo reveals that his wife, Mirai, is attempting to buy the cantina from the Ithorian owner (who desperately wants off-world.) Together, Augur and Mirai convince Thulls to sell, with Augur using the precious gems that he found in the cargo manifest. Now the crew are part-owners of a cantina!
- The night ends well for most of the crew: Brody gives Meelaan a personal tour of the ship, Jor'dira meets a lovely Twi'lek freighter captain, and Ondo spends time with his wife ... and the guy he awkwardly introduces as his uncle. Poor Augur goes home alone ... ah, the burden of command.
- But any bliss is short-lived as Trandoshan slavers chose this night to raid the Port! Augur and Brody race from the Exeter in the hopes of find Jor and Ondo (who aren't responding to their comms), leaving 8T33 to watch over Meelaan ... who promptly leaves the ship as well, forcing the droid to pursue.
- A quick running gun battle later, Augur and Brody reach the boarding house to discover a repulsortruck leaving, with another parked and Trandoshans cramming stunned captives inside. Much violence ensues and the crew successfully defeat this group of Trandoshans.
- But one truck got away and it had some prisoners in it!
Adventure 5: One Night on Gelgelar, Pt 2
- Rushing to join the melee, Ondo encounters a trio of Trandoshans manhandling what appears to be a Wookiee from a downed escaped pod, still smoking from re-entry. Before he know what is happening, the former Jedi is in a fray, and manages to defeat the three slavers, unwittingly earning himself a Life Debt from the now recovering Wook.
- The two press on and join the rest of the crew, learning that the Wook's name is Salbow (thanks to 8T33) and that Jor'dira is still incapacitated.
- Making a quick command decision, Augur orders 8T33 & Jor to return to the ship while the rest of the crew pursues the escaping Trandoshans in their captured repulsortruck.
- Thanks to Ondo's crackerjack piloting skills, they quickly catch up to the Trandoshans and engage them in a firefight, putting all but one of the Dosh down and rescuing another hold of prisoners.
- They return to the port where Augur agrees to track down & eliminate the bulk of the slavers for the locals. Salbow signs on to the crew, desperate to locate his missing son captured by the Trandoshans long ago.
- With Augur's intimate knowledge of Gelgelar, they're able to isolate the likely spot being used as a rally point, an abandoned refining plant many kilometers distant. Salbow goes in first, being something of a sniper, while Brody follows with his jetpack while Augur & Ondo take the captured repulsortruck. Jor & 8T33 remain aboard the Exeter, lurking in low orbit nearby for additional support.
- The battle goes poorly for the Trandoshans right from the beginning when 8T33 slices into one of the patrolling armed droid remotes, compromising it from the Exeter. None of the slavers escape ... but from the rescued prisoners they learn that a ship had already departed.
- Their return kicks off a party at Gelgelar Free Port, during which Augur is discreetly approached by Slerog Fenn, the Rodian "crime boss" of the tiny port who hires him to take word of this raiding party to Popara the Hutt.
- At the same time, Ondo is warned by his "uncle" to remain out of the Core & Colony worlds since an investigation by the Jedi Order into his presence on Procopia is already underway.
- And there was much rejoicing.
Adventure 6: Tempest Feud – A Hutt’s Best Hope, Part 1
- The 100+ hour trip to Ithor is uneventful (apart from Jor discovering that they desperately need to replace a critical part in the hyperdrive), but the moment the Exeter arrives, the PCs find they’re already eager to depart thanks to the positively outlandish taxes and fees they’re forced to pay. Once they’ve gotten rid of Thulls and dealt with the bureaucratic nightmare (thanks to that damned Republic Senate), they burn atmo to get out of the system ASAP, destination: Nar Shaddaa.
- By way of comparison, the Smuggler’s Moon is far cheaper, and after setting down, the PCs quickly get busy trying to track down the replacement part and selling their cargo. Their meeting with Popara is scheduled for the following day, so they are able to successfully conduct some business without incident.
- Another Hutt – named Vago – is waiting to take them to Popara’s ship, the Imru Ootmian, and once they arrive there, Brody has a tense stand-off with a Wookiee who tries to intimidate the soldier (but fails miserably.)
- The Hutt Lord, Popara, is waiting for them, waited on by three beautiful Twi’lek women whom Ondo realizes are all Force-sensitive.
- Popara accepts their information and agrees to look into the matter … provided the PCs do him a favor as well. His youngest child, Mika, is missing in the Corporate Sector Authority, and he wishes them to rescue the young Hutt from a plague-stricken world.
- Zonnos, Popara’s older child, scoffs at the capabilities of the PCs, and before they know it, a challenge is offered. Brody meets the Wook he encountered earlier in single combat and quite thoroughly schools the Kashyyyk native, earning Popara’s respect and approval.
- The following day, while medicinal spice intended for the plague victims is being loaded aboard the Exeter and Jor finishes repairs on the hyperdrive, Zonnos pays Augur a visit and intimates that he wouldn’t be too put out if the PCs didn’t find his brother … or if said brother died en route. Augur manages to avoid agreeing to anything.
- Sixty hours later, they arrive in the Endregaad system, but are almost immediately set upon by pirates in an armed freighter. Shots are exchanged to little effect, and Augur orders Ondo to make all haste to the blockade while hailing it and requesting assistance. Within seconds, a trio of Authority IRD (Intercept, Reconnaissance, Defense) fighters race forward, unloading a salvo of concussion missiles at the pirate vessel, destroying it in a fierce shower of fire.
- The Exeter is ordered to follow them to the Resolute…
- Aboard the Resolute, Augur, Brody and Salbow depart the Exeter and meet with Commander Angala Krin, the operational commander. She accepts the medicinal spice that Popara gave them, but refuses to give them permission to go planetside.
- During this conversation, though, Brody notes a tactical display nearby and, when they return to the Exeter mentions a possible weakness in the blockade.
- With Ondo at the helm, they successfully manage to find the hole in the line of ships and race to the planet below.
- Hugging the terrain, they get close to Tel Bollin, the one real city on the planet before concealing the Exeter within a convenient cave. They then set out in their speeder truck.
- Tel Bollin, they discover, is almost a ghost town, filled with the dead, the dying, and those taking advantage of them. It is patrolled by Corporate Sector security droids, but that doesn't stop swoop gangs from causing problems.
- The PCs run afoul of one such swoop gang, but it doesn't end well at all for the drug-addled swoopies, resulting in the characters acquiring swoops for themselves.
- Investigation leads them to a cantina where they discover a sickly Nikto bodyguard of Mika named Orgamon being messed with by two swoopies; Ondo & Salbow get into a messy fight (instigated by the Wookiee), and leave the two thugs on the floor, a drooling mess.
- The Nikto points them toward a distant part of the planet where Mika is supposed to be. They return to the Exeter with Orgamon, leaving several of the swoops behind. With 8T33 driving the speeder truck, and four of the characters providing swoop coverage (Brody, Jor, Ondo, and Salbow), the PCs head north.
- On the night of the first day, they are set upon by a fierce but starving gundark, who badly injures Brody & Salbow before being dropped.
- Late in the following day, they arrive at Temple Valley, the junktown that grew up around the geode mining facilities. With Salbow watching their vehicles, the rest of the team split up to seek work about Mika.
- Brody is jumped by a drug-addled trio of thugs, but drops their leader in the first few seconds, causing the other two to flee. Once again, Brody notes the distinctive appearance of his foe; their veins are discolored and quite prominent, just like the swoopies they encountered in Tel Bollin.
- The team return to their vehicles to discover that Orgamon has learned where Mika is supposed to be.
- They press on, arriving at the site of a crashed starship an hour or so later. Mika the Hutt is present, apparently investigating the wreckage. He greets the characters calmly and explains why he is here: this appears to be the source of the plague.
- While showing them around the wreckage, he also points out some strangely discolored sand, which he identifies as a hitherto unknown form of spice. None of the characters mention the drug-addled junkies they've encountered thus far.
- And yet another group of such addicts attacks! Once again, they're on swoops, although their leader is piloting an airspeeder equipped with a powerful laser cannon. Salbow is dropped in the opening moments of the battle, but the other characters drop the swoopies, forcing the leader to flee.
- Mika acknowledges the need to get back to Tel Bollin and off the planet ASAP.
- Two days later, they are at the city, where Mika takes care of his remaining business before accompanying the PCs to their ship.
- But there are rogues lurking in wait for them there! A vicious firefight breaks out, with Brody, Jor and Salbow all being dropped before the last of the Rodian Bomu clan villains being slain (by 8T33 who bunny-hops the Exeter atop the poor bastard.)
- WIth three of their number down, the characters remain on-station for three days while 8T33 tends to their injuries.
- During this time, Augur and Ondo try to cut through the red tape and make contact with Commander Krin, eventually succeeding when Captain Saudreez identifies ground zero of the plague.
- The Exeter is escorted off-planet and dock aboard the Resolute where they spend two additional days going through an invasive decon. Once more, Augur's silver-tongue is displayed, and he manages to convince CDR Krin to allow them to depart.
- They exit the system and proceed to the rendezvous point, a system on the edge of Hutt space called Droxu. There, they are again forced to go through decon, before being shown to Popara the Hutt who is positively giddy over the return of his child.
- As promised, the reward is rather impressive, with Popara upgrading their weapon systems as well as presenting them with a substantial amount of credits.
- The characters spend the next ten days or so buying, selling, and upgrading. For once, things are looking up...
