Kelvin "StormSurge" Nimbus Local TV weather consultant and storm chaser, Kelvin Nimbus, is on his way back from another busted storm chase. Constant failure to get good storm footage has frustrated his employer, KOMA 5, who calls him up and fires him, despite Kelvin's frustrated protests that the weather is naturally unpredictable and not something that he controls. It is near dusk when a storm explodes ahead of Kelvin's truck - despite conditions being completely wrong for it. His lips give a sideways half smile, knowing mother nature has a very twisted sense of humor, as he alone is anywhere near the storm to capture the footage. Before Kelvin is able to get into position, the storm drops a huge funnel cloud, which picks up Kelvin and his truck. The wind rips Kelvin from his truck and he watches as it is tossed aside like a child's toy and destroyed. He closes his eyes and prepares to die, feeling the pressure of the storm ripping the air from his lungs. For what feels like only a few seconds, images of an alien world being destroyed flash through his head, then a haunting alien face, staring deep into his soul while only saying "help", followed by what feels like an eternity of black silence. Kelvin awakes in a hospital bed, with his wife beside him. Unknown to him, a week had passed and she had been beside his bed the entire time. Amazed by how quickly Kelvin is recovering, they allow him to go home to finish his recovery. The next few weeks, Kelvin is haunted by nightmares of the alien world being destroyed. Each night the dream gets more and more detailed, to the point where he even believes he can smell the destruction. Finally the reoccurring nightmares are broken by the alien figure who first apologizes for any inconveniences caused by the nanomachines adapting to his body - as it was quite the feat of technology. The alien voices another apology for getting sidetracked and then introduces himself as "Chief Scientist Qat'el of the Taranisians." Qat'el explains the Taranisians were destroyed and these nanomachines are the only thing left of his race. A probe was sent from the planet toward Earth, hoping it contained sentient life, so someone could help give the Qat'el's race another chance at life. The nanomachines will grant him intelligence above that of his fellow Earthlings, but also allow him to forgo eating and sleeping - all in an effort to allow Kelvin the most amount of time to grant the Taranisians new life. Understanding the great responsibility thrust upon this creature who didn't volunteer for it, Qat'el further explains he has also been granted the power to control the weather in order to help improve Kelvin's own planet, with one string attached - he can only use his powers for good(tm). Finally, Qat'el tell Kelvin that he won't be doing this alone - but Qat'el will help guide him as best he can if Kelvin seeks his help. And so, StormSurge was born. Friends: - Dusty Wrane - Life-long friend and general good-old-boy
- James Graupel - A friend Kelvin met in college who loves muscle cars and is a mechanic
- Sue Nami - The navigator for all of Kelvin's storm chasing exploits
Foes: - Chris Cirrus - Kelvin's boss at KOMA 5, and general douche lead weatherman
- Gale Galleon - A competing storm chaser in it for the money not the SCIENCE!
- Seth Sirocco - An unscrupulous scientist looking to develop weather control technology and blackmail with it.
Family: - Trish Strato-Nimbus - Kelvin's wife
- Cyclone - Kelvin's black German Shephard
- Maria Kelvin - Kelvin's mother, lives many states away and doesn't approve of Kelvin's storm chasing ways.

[atrb=border,0,true] Story Concept Rod "Link" Lincoln, underground street racer; mostly tuner cars, but some motorcycle stuff too. Got sucked into a crime-gang as a wheel-man, and worked for them for quite a while, till he got busted by the FBI (by SA Borden) and turned informant. Got pinched by the gang, and set up for a spectacular, fiery death during an upcoming race event.
The night before the race, Link went to get some celebratory ink done, and being quite drunk, ended up at Crossroads Ink, where the "Jamaican" proprietor convinced Link to allow him to "paint his soul" into the piece. Link was never able to relocate the establishment later, nor its proprietor, but he never felt quite the same afterward.
At the race, his assassination occurred as planned, but Link miraculously survived the crash, and was nursed back to health, along with a little cosmetic surgery, by Borden. Borden cooked up the whole "vengeful ghost" persona—complete BS story, complete with raped-&-murdered girlfriend—and put him back to work taking down the gang, who believed him to be dead, using his new-found abilities which could only have come from the tattoo. The gangsters would always die horribly at the hands of The Justiciar, though behind-the-scenes, their deaths had been masterfully faked by Borden, and were sent to super-max prisons on the far side of the world, never to be seen again. So long as Link kept working for him, Borden provided Link with special spy-gear, and "the car," while he looked the other way when the bad guys came up "missing some cash and valuables," and Link started to get rather wealthy, though he tended to blow all his money on ale-&-whores, gambling, and such. Once the original gang had been taken down, and Link (and whomever else was "appropriate") had been avenged, he and Borden set about working on other criminal organizations. Link wasn't particularly "altruistic" about any of it, and honestly didn't care about "justice," but kept at it so long as he was making money, and learned that he was ultimately talented at it.
Then one day, Link learned that Borden had "died in a horrible accident," entirely without warning. He tried to get more info from the FBI, but they said that no man by that name/description had ever worked in the FBI. Totally without leadership or sponsorship, Rod's funds dried up, and he started to look toward "teaming up"… | [bg=black] |

(Ref:The Crow-Sgt Albrecht.) Unaware (?) of the Justiciar's identity (due to his nosy nature, will undoubtedly become aware of it, if he isn't already).
- "Monk" Chavez, 27—Chop-shop proprietor from Link's wheel-man, criminal days, who continues to help with some maintenance work for him under-the-table. Learned the ropes under "Boss," who would undoubtedly Gibbs-slap him if he found out about his less-than-legal work. Aware of the Justiciar's identity, having worked on "The Car" many times. Was always "creeped out" by Agt Borden, when he was around, and doesn't miss him.
- Axel, 36—Leader of a vigilante biker gang, the Templars, operating in the area, that has helped the Justiciar on a number of occasions, directly and via an intelligence network. Unaware of the Justiciar's identity (only work with him as "The Justiciar.")

[atrb=border,0,true] Story Concept The son of Centurion and Lady Liberty from a Utopian alternate future, Gaius ("Guy") Octavius Leeds was born without powers, despite the fact that his parents were among the most powerful humans on the planet. His mother retired from active service prior to his birth, primarily to conceal the fact that she had been stripped of her powers by a gene re-sequencing bomb aimed to kill her husband. Convinced that he had to live up to his pedigree, Guy became obsessed with powered armor and eventually developed his own state-of-the-art battlesuit so he could fight alongside his unaging father.
When a cataclysm led by the immensely powerful Omega threatened to destroy his universe, Guy modified his suit so he could traverse the timestream so he could travel back and prevent the White Event from taking place. As he moved through the timestream, however, something went terribly wrong and he eventually arrived in the Prime reality in Doctor Williams' lab; eventually, Guy would discover that one of Williams' experiments was responsible for this incident. He quickly discovered that he had been shunted into a parallel universe, one in which his parents had never been a romantic couple and his "father" had already died. Attempts to return home revealed that his universe had been wiped out of the multiverse, forcing him to adapt to his new circumstances. With only his highly advanced but extremely damaged battlesuit protecting his identity and his parents' moral guidelines, he (re-)adopted the identity of The Legionary and now strives to prevent the darkness that consumed his timeline from destroying his new home.
Fifteen years have passed since Guy arrived in the Prime universe - he arrived very shortly after the Terminus Invasion was repelled - during which time he has constructed a new (but less advanced thanks to the primitive equipment available) battlesuit while establishing his cover identity.
For the last four years, Professor (Doctor) Leeds has taught graduate level courses at the Hanover Institute of Technology in his area of expertise (electrical engineering, robotics, etc.), but recently ended his association with HIT due to concern that his teaching position was negatively impacting his role as Legionary. He then levered his advanced knowledge of sciences into practical results, and with Guardian, Inc. assistance, has become reasonably well off so he no longer needs to worry about paying his bills. He recently relocated to Centurion's Sanctum, which was left in his care by his father after the reputed hero departed Earth following the breaking of Omega's mind control. | |
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=rowspan,2][atrb=width,100%,true][atrb=width,70%][atrb=valign,top]Family- Lady Liberty. Having recently become aware of her unusual genetic relationship with Legionary, Beth Walton-Wright (Lady Liberty III) is still coming to terms with the knowledge that she is, technically, Legionary's mother. This revelation took place around Christmas of last year (approx 2 mos. or so from new game time), when the Warlord, Legionary's longtime adversary, decided to attack Beth to inflict emotional pain on his hated enemy. He was unable to stand against both Legionary and Lady Liberty, so he fled. Since that time, Guy has maintained limited contact with Beth now that she knows the truth (or at least part of it; he's not yet told her who his father was), and this has unfortunately caused further stress in her marriage since her husband was A> injured by Warlord and B> knows that he's not Guy's timelost father.
- Professor Zachary Williams. A professor of Science! at Hanover Institute of Technology (HIT), he is currently one of only two people who knows the truth about The Legionary's origin as it was Professor Williams' experiments that accidentally drew Guy's battlesuit into this timeline instead of his own while he was heading backward in time. Because he blames himself, the professor has dedicated himself to helping Guy. Currently, he is the only person in this timeline completely aware of Guy's history. (Think the crazy doctor from "Fringe") Professor Williams encouraged Guy to leave academia once he realized it was not what his young(ish) friend wanted to do.
- Allison Williams. Daughter of Professor Williams, she recently became a reporter at one of the local news stations. By this point, she has outgrown her "crush" on Guy (right about when he noticed she was pretty hot), and is now firmly in the step-sister mode. She is now aware that he is Legionary, but does not know about how he came to this timeline.

| [atrb=colspan,2][atrb=valign,top][atrb=align,center]Allison Williams
| [atrb=valign,top][atrb=rowspan,2]Friends- Medea is a former member of the Crime League who recently reformed after a number of mystical team-ups with Earth’s Sorceror Supreme, the individual known as Eldritch. Although Medea has a reputation as something of a misandrist, the relationship she has with Guy is unmistakably romantic in nature, which has caused serious trust issues between Legionary and Lady Liberty. Medea is aware of his genetic relationship to Elizabeth Walton-Wright and finds this extraordinarily amusing. Recently, she has replaced Eldritch as Earth’s primary mystic defender following his unexpected death, although thus far, this remains a secret known only to a select few since most would automatically assume Medea was responsible.
- Samantha ("Sam") Reichert is a homosexual female, who was one of Guy's graduate assistants. Currently, she is finishing her doctorate and serves as something of a lab assistant to Guy with an implicit promise that he's going to hire her full-time once she graduates. She is aware of his alternate identity but not his genetic relationship to her. The individual whom she values most is Lady Liberty. She is also aware that he's fascinated with Lady Liberty, though she believes it's a romantic crush like others of his age. She also has a serious crush on Allison Williams.
- Stephanie ("Steph") Drake is a heterosexual female, who is now pursuing an advanced degree in robotics and is fascinated with Legionary (but isn't aware of Guy's identity as Legionary. She's Sam's best friend, and is a computer nerd & gaming geek. Think early Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, before she turned into a witch. Despite her Westernized name, she's clearly half-Asian (her mom ... Cassie, who is a bad ass martial artist type that works at Master Lee's School of Defense); dad - Tim - is a detective with the FCPD. (And kudos if you get this in-joke.)
- Agent Wendell McKenzie. Field agent for AEGIS, he has sort of become Legionary's go-to guy when he (Legionary) needs to contact AEGIS. McKenzie pretends to openly dislike Legionary, but their encounters has mostly convinced Guy that he (Mac) is just putting up a fake front. Mac is married, with three kids.

| [atrb=valign,top][atrb=rowspan,2]Enemies:- The Warlord is a recurring enemy of The Legionary's who is from Guy's timeline and blames The Legionary for the eradication of their universe. Recently, Warlord has been in control of the Balkan nation Borduria, and Guy attempted to neutralize him. This resulted in the destruction of the Mark III armor. Currently, Warlord is missing, presumed dead, but Guy doubts his longtime foe is truly gone.
- Vanessa Alexander - the daughter of billionaire industrialist and CEO of Guardian Inc., Byron Alexander. As head of Guardian's Robotics Division, she is ostensibly Guy's boss and clearly resents his presence in the company, both because he is obviously more talented in her chosen field and because he has already grown close to her father who treats Guy like a lost son who can do no wrong. She is unaware of Guy's alternate identity as Legionary thanks entirely to her father who always has a ready-made excuse for Guy's absence, usually in the form of a "special project" Byron has Dr. Leeds looking into.
- Captain Thunder is the current leader of the Freedom League, which until recently was believed to be the premiere super-team on the planet. The arrival and the success of the Initiative has caused the League’s reputation to slip, a fact that Thunder blames on Legionary whom he openly distrusts and considers a mercenary. The rivalry between the two men has turned into open dislike, which has been both noted and commented upon by numerous pundits in the media.

Charles “Maverick” Robertson
Grew up with his mother, who paid more attention to the “bottle” than him. All he knows of his father is a name, Remy. He assumes his powers were inherited from his father. While raising him, the Police were called several times on his mother, Judith Robertson, for possible neglect or abuse … and each time the same officer responded, Thomas O’Shea. After a while, O’Shea (then a Lt.) would make it a habit to check in on Charles from time to time … even after he became Chief of Police. However, growing up with O’Shea looking out for him brought the disdain of O’Shea’s son, Patrick, and his best friend, Timothy. Even though Pat didn’t follow his father’s footsteps, Tim did … and is keeping an “eye” on Charles, determined to catch him in the act … of something.
During most of his life, the only father figure that Charles has ever known is Robert Jones. Robert Jones is a close family friend who helped raise him. When Charles was old enough, Robert taught him about cars, and eventually hired him to work in his mechanic shop. Which is where Charles first discovered his powers … one night, while working late at the shop doing an overhaul of an engine, Charles scrapped his knuckles on a bolt. Frustrated and in pain, Charles threw the socket he was holding out the garage door, which upon hitting the ground out side … it promptly exploded. After this occurrence, and through some discreet channels, Charles found Dr. Jonas Charleston. Who, at the insistence of his wife Rachel, has been helping Charles understand his powers. Charles has seen fit to also notify Chief O’Shea of his secret.
Which leads to one Robert Jonathon Black. With the knowledge and permission of the Chief, Charles assists in certain law enforcement scenarios. And while out one afternoon, Charles came across Black attempting to rob a back. Charles thwarted his attempt and Black has vowed revenge ever since.
3-3-3
Family – - Robert Jones – “Boss” – owner of the garage I’ve worked at since I was 16 years old and able to drive … “father figure” - Judith Robertson – mother – pretty much drunk 24/7 … never any help to me while I was growing up, unless a bottle was involved in some manner - Remy – father – has been non-existent for most of my life … therefore not much is known about him
Allies – - Chief O’Shea – Police Chief – after coming out to the house on several calls on my mother early on in his career, he kinda took me under his wing - Dr. Jonas Charleston – Science Professor – 1 of the few people that knew of my powers … and is helping me understand them … is a professor at Claremont Academy - Rachel Charleston – wife of Dr. Charleston and a local philanthropist
Rivals – - Patrick O’Shea – police chief’s son – despised me due to his father’s interest in my well being … and that he treated me like a son - Robert Black – career felon – was attempting to rob a bank but was foiled by “Maverick” … vowed revenge against him … - Sgt. Timothy Smythe – close friend of Patrick – is annoyed by me due to the Chief’s relationship with me … tries to cause trouble for me

Dr. Beatrice Ivy O'Hazard.
A promising research scientist working for the Justice Department of Scientific Intelligence (yeah I made something up). Dr. O'Hazard was selected to lead a small research team to learn more about the identification properties of the radioactive Element Q32. Little is known about the element other than it has the ability to detect unique biological signatures. Dr. O'Hazard is hoping to be able to calibrate samples of Q32 to hone in on those unique signatures thereby greatly increasing the probability of success for missing person cases and unsolved crime scenes. Dr. O'Hazard was also tasked to invent a device that would make Element Q32 safe to use in the field due to its radioactive properties. Long story short (and because I haven't hashed out all the details) Dr. O'Hazard was working in the lab one night experimenting on the containment device, some accident happened, and whoops she came in contact with Q32. Therefor Q32 bound to her DNA which gave her the power to chemically alter her form. Since she was tasked to help minimize crime and bring criminals to justice she decides to follow that mantra as she uses her new found powers to do just that.
As a result The Catalyst was born
Family- 1. Grandma Rosie- Beloved Grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer’s, though at times she can still recognize Beatrice and Sam. She witnessed Beatrice using her powers one day and has since claimed her granddaughter as The Catalyst during moments of lucidity. The staff at the nursing home naturally doesn’t believe her and gently pat her hand until she lapses back into her fog filled thoughts.
2. Sam O’Hazard- Beatrice’s younger brother. After their parents died, Beatrice took it upon herself to play the role of surrogate mother to Sam. Sam is more of a listless wanderer and dreamer. He made it out of high school only to drop out of college to do freelance artistry. Heavily relies on Beatrice to get him out of financial trouble when his schemes backfire.
3. Virchow- Beatrice’s loveable golden retriever and as of now only roommate. Virchow sleeps at Beatrice’s feet, loves watching TV, and his favorite food is peanut butter. Beatrice thinks that Virchow is the best listener and confidant.
Friends-
Justin Matthews - Beatrice’s friend. Would be a potential love interest if Beatrice wouldn't be so focused on her work. Instead Justin plays the role of best friend holding out for an opportunity to try to make it into something more. Justin is an architect who enjoys listening to opera while he works. In his free time he likes doing outdoor sports (camping, rock climbing, hang gliding etc. )
Bella Starr - Beatrice's girlfriend (real name is Isabella Daniels) who is the ying to Beatrice's yang. Tall, blond, chatty, model type who majored in fashion and is trying to get her clothing line off the ground. The two have been friends since childhood when they were forced to be art partners in grade school. Bella is always there when Beatrice has a fashion crisis before a dissertation. And Beatrice is always there to lend an ear when Bella has one of her many boy problems. Sure they're like night and day but somehow it works out well.
Shannon Drake - Beatrice's right hand man in the Q32 research project. Shannon is a no nonsense type of girl with a quick mind and a good work ethic. She puts in long hours at the lab and is suspicious of Beatrice's accident cover up, though at the moment she can't find anything unusual. From what Beatrice can tell Shannon doesn't have much of a home life. She's single, likes to play guitar, and works on muscle cars during the weekend.
Foes-
Dr.Insano- Little is known about Dr. Insano except he uses his intelligence to trap and study super heroes. So far there have been no survivors due to Dr. Insano's urge to dissect his "specimens". It is unknown whether or not Dr. Insano has heard of The Catalyst's debut into society, however it will only be a matter of time before Dr. Insano decides that introductions are in order.
Dr. Thaddeus Fox- Disgruntled colleague of Dr. O'Hazard. His research grant was denied due to the shift of funds to Beatrice's Q32 project. Now he has a new mission to try to discredit Beatrice's findings or rule the findings unfit for society.
The Chianti Killer- Serial killer at large that is one of the driving forces behind Dr. O'Hazard's work. His MO involves two wine glasses at every scene. One of them half full is located near the victim, the other one usually on a table or working surface, is always empty. So far 6 crime scenes have been attributed to The Chianti Killer resulting in 8 deaths.
