FYI To my knowledge, we have to do some fine-tuning on Chris' primary character (second is in the works but not complete—may rip off Rigil's? Temporarily?), and some fine-tuning on Nate's characters—got some cinematic/exotic abilities that need pruning, that I noticed. Then there's the equipment, but thankfully, I figured out a way to cut & paste equipment, so that'll go a bit more smoothly (already applied to Nate's characters that I have on hand). I really hope getting those tweaks in doesn't take a lot of time, so we can get on with it, but you know how these things go. If we don't get to start the real mission this week, I do have some stuff in mind—and we'll get to use some grenades this time

Let me know what needs to be pruned and whatnot and I will get as much of that done before hand to not waste time Though if one of these 'cinematic/exotic' abilities is my dude's awesome profile picture there is nothing I can do about that - he is just that awesome

Let me know what needs to be pruned and whatnot and I will get as much of that done before hand to not waste time This was totally my fault, BTW—though, in my defense, I was having to help four different folks get through the process. Re: Connor MacMurphy: - Gunslinger=Cinematic
- Common Sense—that work for the character? But then, how close are you trying to model the movie version? (BTW: Rented Saints a week ago, so I "get it" now)
- Megalomania? See above.
- We went with the Criminal background Lens for Connor, but we probably should have deviated from the movie a bit, and made it Military instead—would work better with the group. In either case, it's really just a matter of getting all the necessary skills in, and Connor is short a few, specifically, Parachuting, Climbing, Soldier
Re: Dakota Langdon - I presumed you still had Tallahassee in mind for this character, but the Traits don't seem to add up—if you had something else in mind, you can ignore some of my comments
- Compulsive Vowing, Disturbing voice don't really make any sense
- Cold-Blooded is "Exotic" (e.g. non-human)
- Needs the Military background Lens (category is "Character Template Lenses - Action" under Templates tab)
All I can think of immediately. If you're going to tweak the characters before Friday, go ahead and strip out all the equipment except the weapons—I'll be pasting it in.

though, in my defense, I was having to help four different folks get through the process. I don't want to hear excuses! Enjoy Saints? Re: Conner As far as modeling the character to the movie, eh, I'm not tied and bound to it that's for sure, as I fully expect him to die - not that I'm going to be suicidal with him, just learning curve tends to lead to player deaths - ie Krognar has been the luckiest mo-fo in the world as he has been on death's door almost every week... Re: Dakota I have almost completely ignored the movie when making him, so yeah he is a completely 'new' character... The 'Tallahassee' concept just didn't work that well for a wheelman and I wanted to have a way out there 'fun' character to mess with... so I remade him with the idea of making a stereotyped xenophobic jingoistic redneck... An 'merica F Yeah! kinda guy

Not necessarily a "keeper" for me, but I did like it. Need to catch the sequel. If you go in two-guns-blazing like he did in the movie, you're likely to have similar results (that is, all those bullets, and he hit maybe twice) Might not want to take that too far, or he won't be able to work with this group—which, at this point, has a minority of Americans. I need a better mental picture of who this guy is, since you're deviating from the "physical" representation.

Not necessarily a "keeper" for me, but I did like it. Need to catch the sequel. Yeah, the sequel isn't nearly as good as the first, as it essentially requires you to be a huge fan of the first to even possibly like the second If you go in two-guns-blazing like he did in the movie, you're likely to have similar results (that is, all those bullets, and he hit maybe twice) I fully plan on a huge room full of enemies where aiming isn't required to hit something Might not want to take that too far, or he won't be able to work with this group—which, at this point, has a minority of Americans. I need a better mental picture of who this guy is, since you're deviating from the "physical" representation. Yeah, I kinda figured that, so I think I will really have to tone the xenophobia and jingoism back a little bit as to not "accidentally got in the way of my shot" from a teammate... Though most definitely will be a redneck with a shotgun swearing at them 'furrenner terrorists'

Though most definitely will be a redneck with a shotgun swearing at them 'furrenner terrorists' Could go with an Odious Personal Habit: Using Racial Epithets—basically just "insensitive," rather than "intolerant." OTOH, I'm not sure how to play that out without irritating the other Players/GM—calling Chris' character a "nigger" might be funny once, but more than that… Still, I can think of some examples of the sort of character I think you're thinking of. Typical Vietnam-movie redneck soldier, maybe? "Did you see the way that head came apart?"

Yeah... I will have to think pretty hard about where that line is, definitely don't wish to have the team/gm hate the character... I personally wouldn't wish to use racial epithets - character based or not - just not something I would enjoy doing.. hmm... difficult

Well, to be fair, there isn't going to be a lot of role-playing in this quasi-campaign, so it might not even come up.
That said, he is a wheel-man. Should be a speed-junky, and a car nut. NASCAR-type, maybe? I wonder if he shouldn't be a pilot as well?

Sorry, predator never interested me... but then again I'm not much of an action fan outside of the Transporter series... then again Im not much of a movie buff either Hadn't occurred to me that you might be one of those complete freaks that doesn't agree with me ;D Decided to check your Facebook profile to see what you "liked." Predator is probably not far from a Stargate episode, except everyone on the team is an over-the-top Spec Ops guy, and there really isn't much Science! going on. That said, it does lean toward the horror genre, which given your Likes, may not be your bag—if that's the case, then you probably didn't like Aliens, either—more blasphemy! UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN! *points accusatory finger* Good to know, anyway—have to treat you a bit differently than the rest. One of those Golden Rules of GMing is, "Know the Group"…

Good to know, anyway—have to treat you a bit differently than the rest. One of those Golden Rules of GMing is, "Know the Group"… Yeah... I'm... 'special' I do quite enjoy sci-fi stuffs, mainly for the SCIENCE! elements.. hence the Stargate/Star Trek love over the Star Wars 'religious' overtones (or not now that there is midichlorians haha). Yeah, horror also never did anything for me, so no, I haven't seen aliens as well... *hides* Shoot, overall fantasy doesn't do much for me, though playing Dragon Age (and Oblivion now), as well as tabletop gaming has given me a little more appreciation for it... but if there is ever a choice between Star Trek vs Lord of the Rings, it will always be Star Trek oh.. and I should really update that facebook profile... I tend to completely ignore it for large swaths of time

Worth more points, too.

SITREP: - Now that Tactical Shooting is out, everyone needs to get a copy—from me, or wherever (pretty sure everyone already got hold of Gun Fu)
- Since "continuity" is not an issue for this quasi-campaign, I have decided that everyone can make whatever tweaks you like to your existing characters, including Traits and Equipment, "within reason," short of additional points
- Those of you that never quite wrapped up your backup characters need to give it some attention. Since nobody has used their secondary character yet, I will allow complete do-overs—some new templates, styles, and gear in Tactical Shooting might be of interest
- Really need to get Shelly up to speed, here—might not be her usual cup-of-tea, but she'll definitely need to learn the system for later; need to get some concepts up here as soon as she can manage them
- Tactical Shooting describes Loadouts for a number of military orgs—might be of interest, for those of you that don't know your way around that sort of thing so much
I'd like to be ready to go before it comes time to run this again.

I still don't have everyone's GCA files (or PDFs, for that matter). I was looking over the stuff I do have, and I've decided that these people are F'd up—specifically WRT "point-sink" Disadvantages. However, I have decided that, rather than nitpick the characters to death and/or loom over everyone's shoulders, or changing the CP totals, I'm going to make the following adjustment to the creation process, effective immediately for all characters: Every character will take a single Disadvantage, which we will call "Non-Combat Baggage"; it will be worth -75 pts. Also, no Quirks (included in the Baggage). Maximum Disads will remain at -125, however, the the only legal Disads, in addition, will be those that affect combat directly, or between engagements on the same mission. If it alters a Skill or Attribute, imposes some sort of penalty, etc., it will be considered "legal" for this purpose. Having modified thusly, maybe it won't be necessary for everyone to be a bloodthirsty, callous, misanthropic psychopath. This should be a lot easier to play as well—less crap to keep track of. Also, while you're in there messing with the characters, don't forget what I said earlier about skill levels.
