Let's play "Six Degrees of Forgotten GreyLancErron"...
How are the characters tied together? Well, let's see...
Corabelle was rescued by Úzi when she was briefly lost many years ago.
Corum served in the local militia, then under Silas' older brother (the Spare, not the Heir), but walked away (AWOL) when Titus became the titular head of House Ridgewood.
In the later days of his militia "career," just prior to his unsanctioned departure, Corum befriended Sigfried who was attempting to enlist, but was turned down due to not meeting minimum requirements.
Silas and Sigfried encountered one another on the road and decided to travel together because it was always safer to travel in groups. They later met and joined up with Úzi who was on his way to Brindol.
Also on the way to Brindol (but taking a different route), Corum met Corabelle. Although the whisper gnome was initially wary of the very tall (to her) male, she followed him nonetheless because he was more familiar with the Upper World.
