Pretty sure everyone has realized my character isn't really fitting in - I'm fairly unsatisfied with him and that plays a factor, I'm sure. Thus, new PC (and ask Giger: my card drawing was ... interesting, to say the least):

History: Story I'm thinking is thus:
- Orphaned. No idea who his dad was, his mom died during childbirth. Was raised on his uncle's (mother's brother) farm and the two loathed one another.
- Joined CSA Army at the outbreak of hostilies at the age of 16. This will put him around 32 if we're 1877.
- Participated in several battles.
- Veteran story: most recent major engagement saw him present at a three-sided battle - USA, CSA and an Indian tribe (TBD - maybe Lakota? Maybe Apache?) that went south quickly when the skirmish "woke" some sort of wicked critters (canyon crawlers? Mojave rattlers?). Pretty much everyone was wiped out. PC was among the survivors who banded together to escape or get away - in the process, he became friends with a couple of the Indian braves (one of whom conveniently happens to be the chief's son, though that guy is less his friend than another dude who we'll call Dead Meat.) Badly wounded (just like Dead Meat), the few survivors manage to stagger back to the Indian camp where PC is slowly nursed back to health in the same home (lodge, tent, whatever) as Dead Meat. Just to complicate matters, Dead Meat's new wife is really young and hot and as PC recovers, he begins to fall for her. Dead Meat, of course, buys the farm, but recognizes the connection between PC & Dead Meat Wife. Once healed, PC stays with the tribe for a little while (thus gaining Kemo Sabe) where he & Wife continue to dance around Will-They-Won't-They. PC is urged by Chief's Son to let it go because it can't end well, so PC departs tribe and returns to his Fort where he is greeted with some surprise (they all thought he had died along with everyone else.) Is discharged due to injuries (or something) and decides to return to Tribe. Before he gets there, he encounters DMWife who has decided to come after him; Chief's Son shows up as well and tells them both to make themselves scarce. DMWife is pregnant & it can only be PC's! They head to Santa Fe where PC does whatever he has to in order to survive and keep food on the table for Wife & newborn daughter.
