In dwarven military early in life.
Dishonored clan by losing a drinking contest (think hunger games with more alcohol) forcing him to escape dwarven stronghold.
Arrived in Korvosa and found work as blacksmith.
Met Matilda, and soon after married her.
Matilda killed in back alley on way home from market.
Bellik proceeded to drink into stupor.
Two days later woke up next to wifes grave and declared that everyone involved would pay for this injustice.
Decided that he would bring honor back to his clan (Clan B'Rackis) the only way he knew how...bloodshed. either his own or his enemies.

Hunger Games with alcohol? How does that work? I mean, the Hunger Games was essentially "Throw some kids in an arena and let them kill each other" - there wasn't any actual consuming going on.
And B'Rackis? Ugh. Hurts...

All the clans sent there best warriors. I was defeated first, hence the dishonor.
And B'Rackis: that's why he has so many craft skills.

If it's Hunger Games (Dwarven Style), though, how did he survive? Losers in tHG died. To get full XP, now write that history in a cool manner. Obviously, since he's a barbarian, it would have to be dictated to someone since he NEVER LEARNED TO READ!

Heh. Since you won't be here next week, I think I've figured out how the dwarf dishonored his clan in the "Alcohol Games." He has no tolerance for alcohol (unlike most dwarves) so his very first celebratory drink? It puts him down like he just finished a three day bender.
And that was a light beer! LOL

OK, GM ruling here. Without the Monkey Grip feat, you may not use a two-handed weapon with one hand like you did on Friday. Sure, it may be kind of cool, but it makes no sense and is just a little too out there. Pick up Monkey Grip and you can go for it with the appropriate -2, but otherwise No. My thinking is thus (in terms of rules): SRD on One & Two-Handed WeaponsUnder Two-Handed, it states "Two hands are required to use a two-handed melee weapon effectively. Apply 1½ times the character’s Strength bonus to damage rolls for melee attacks with such a weapon." Further, under Inappropriately Sized Weapons, it adds "A creature can’t make optimum use of a weapon that isn’t properly sized for it." So essentially, what you are trying to do is treat the Greataxe as if it were simply a Large one-handed weapon and B.A. simply isn't properly sized to do so.

Sorry about that.

Nah, no worries. I wasn't sure myself. Once I did some research, though, I determined we did it wrong. If you want BA to do that sort of thing again in the future, you'll just need to pick up Monkey Grip and then apply the appropriate two-weapon fighting penalties (plus the -2 from MG)...
