So, that would be: Tam and Val remaining behind, while Aria and Jareth take the three deserters, Verik and Aust's corpse back. Could leave Aust with the sneakies, which leaves the others with 2-each—maybe workable?

Well I think that there was a cart that we will be utilizing, so I think we can just pile everyone on the cart, cover up the bodies, and get out of there.

Aust is dead. If you leave him with the sneaky guys, they would later have to carry him over their shoulder. The tied up and unconscious dudes are going into a cart/wagon. It would probably be easier to take him with them.

It would probably be easier to take him with them. Depends how big the cart is, and whether he should be unceremoniously piled in with the other lot. The sneaky guys are Str 13/15, so we can handle the weight, and he could be unceremoniously rolled in a carpet or something, if visibility is a concern. Not that I'm arguing for it. Just for completeness' sake.

OK, some additional thoughts: - It is oh-dark-thirty. If you recall, you guys jumped the mercs in the alley in the dark, took the survivors to Lamm's hideout, interrogated one, then hit "All the World's Meats." With that in mind, leading a cart through the streets at oh-dark-thirty - a cart with bodies (dead or simply unconscious) in it might be slightly suspicious.
- Given that it is oh-dark-thirty, there's the strong probability that the field marshal is still asleep.
- For that matter, you're not even sure if she sleeps in the Citadel.
- Also, she wanted you to avoid other Guards out of fear that Verik might have unseen allies.
The plan you guys have recommended thus far is still feasible but given that Jareth has an INT 18, I figured I'd throw out additional facts to consider.

True. The week or two have been difficult, so there is a possibility she's still up ...
Hmm. Wonder if there's a cleric spell that just removes fatigue? Brew a potion of that and it's like Super!Coffee...

Hrm, well we need to figure out whether or not its a better idea to leave and hope that she is going to be there or wait until dawn (which might complicate things more). When you say oh-dark-thrity are we talking like early evening like 12 am or deeper into the night like 4 am, because depending on the amount of time it takes us it might very well be close to sunrise before we get back and she might be in the citadel by then. Another thought (please note I don't know all the parameters of the spell) but couldn't Jareth cast silent image over the bodies so that they would somehow look inconspicuous? Hmm. Wonder if there's a cleric spell that just removes fatigue? Brew a potion of that and it's like Super!Coffee... Actually there is a remove fatigue spell, but its for fourth level clerics.

After you guys turn over the information to Field Marshal Kroft, there will be a period of "down time" of about two and a half weeks. What is your PC going to be doing in that time?

Um, well I guess Aria would need to get to know her "brother" better. Also, she would be interested in doing some training at Orisini's Acadamy if he can accommodate her unusual weapon.

Well, being the resident diplo-mancer, I have a ton of people to talk to / stuff to do / networking and I am glad I have some time to do it...
1. I plan on spreading a bit of disinformation around, whether it is by appearing as a drunk in a tavern and talking just a little louder than needed while relaying the story to another patron or by chatting up some customers (I sell snake oil, remember) and merchants... The scuttlebutt around town is some guy named (whatever the name is I gave, I forgot to write it down), waltzed right into the "King of Spiders'" lair and had him wrapped around his little finger - and even got him to betray information on some of his criminal allies... [Pseudo-name here] took that information to his masters in Kaer Maga who are going to use it to gain a power base in Korvosa and attempt to seize power...
2. Gather some information from local mages outside the Acadamae and get further details about teachers, classes, etc - things that Valda was asking about so that way when I am questioned again I have a better story to go along with my forged documents
3. Put an ear to the ground regarding Solnia. What has she been up to? Where is she? Has she kept to her part of the agreement?
4. Meet with Grau Soldano and see how he has been doing. Mention his heroic effort on saving those poor people during the house fire and be generally kind and friendly to him. See what he can tell me about Cressida Kroft (more specifically what is her story, how does she treat her guards, any particular likes/dislikes of items/behaviors - to be used at #6) and Vencarlo Orisini (also, his story beyond "expert swordsman trainer" blah blah blah..). Attempt to win him as an ally "in the trenches" since it is important to have friends on the good side of the law and from top to bottom....
5. Stop by and thank Vencarlo for his help. Being very polite ask about Cressida Kroft, what's been his dealings with her, his impressions of her, etc. See what he knows of Gaedren Lamm. I plan on being very kind and almost in "awe" of the man, appealing to any vanity he may have in an attempt to win another ally on the good side of the law.
6. Visit with Cressida Kroft. She is my target of becoming a major ally - Jareth knows she has power and also where his next paycheck is likely to come from. Also, it gets him closer to the Queen slowly but surely. Use the info gathered from #4 and #5 to get in her good graces. Flirt with her a little to gauge her reaction. Since she seems tired and overworked, maybe go with something like: "A woman as beautiful as you shouldn't carry such a heavy burden alone...". She may be stressed and very focused on Korvosa, but even the best of us need a break for personal respite - and I want to be the one she comes to for that. Getting her as a major ally is essential as there is going to come a day when the people I've charmed are going to come for me and on that day it will be good to have the leader of the Korvosan guard on my side - especially if I can slowly work her to be my lover...
I don't think I'll be purchasing anything, but I'll double check some books and see if there is anything I'd rather have than spells when the next level hits (since those 2nd level spells are 200GP a pop!). I may also have some more follow up based on what you say happens...

If it is assumed Aria took the pseudodragon with her then, I also forgot to mention getting Majinko (Guessing on the spelling here) settled. Like if his wounds need tending, etc. Aria probably doesn't know what the little guy needs but I am sure he will tell her.

Reviewing my notes, I realize that I overlooked a couple of things on Friday cause my brain was mush or have since figured out what I wanted to do with some others: - Aria - Vencarlo Orisini was, as stated, not really able to help as much as he/you would like with the chain but he did say that he would be making some inquiries about any potential teachers.
- Jareth - Maester Logain made a concentrated attempt to recruit you into Theumanexus College. The offer stands, should you be interested. Obviously, with their limited instructors, what you learn might be limited initially, but he definitely wants you as part of the alumni.
- Mardak - As stated, Vencarlo Orisini made an attempt to recruit you into his fighting academy. I told you that I had no idea how much it would cost for you to enroll but then realized ... it doesn't matter. As with Jareth above, if you decide to enroll, we will be presuming that some part of your income will be going toward enrollment fees.
- Val - You were given a contact inside the city who will serve as a potential mission generator (ala the guys in the cities in AC1.) More information will come as I finalize the details on my end.
- Training - I'm looking at how to handle this. I have some ideas, but want to put some more thought into them before I declare. Suffice to say, there will be benefits to dedicated training.

Val - You were given a contact inside the city who will serve as a potential mission generator (ala the guys in the cities in AC1.) Hopefully not the one-armed man that I wronged, in my arrogance—that guy's a dick I meant to mention that I wanted to present Mistress with the shuriken we found, and ask about the potential for Lamm to be one of the brotherhood. I forgot to re-equip last week—I'll get the list; won't be excessive

That's one of the the additional reasons Val thinks there's something going on he's unaware of... Yeah, no worries.

Oh goodie! This might provide a new and interesting game mechanic. Maybe Galad has some unspoken skill in the chain. Be still my heart. ::swoon:: Also, I was thinking about the end of last week. Even if we are chaotic good or or on the neutral side of things, all of us appreciate our personal freedoms rather than having someone else tell us what to do. In that light, when we were discussing what we should do with Chickie-poo, since there wasn't a clear answer between us, I think that a good compromise would to appeal to our independent sensibilities. In other words, let her decide what she wants to do. We would give her the three options and then she can make her decision. That way, we wouldn't be so divided and we wouldn't have animosity towards each other because ultimately she made the choice. We would just have to explain to her the three options and the ramifications of each. Like we could let her go but she will never be cleared of any blame and she would be a wanted person for the rest of her life. She could never come back to her home and the boat ride out of the country could be dangerous. Or we could appeal to what we think is Orinsini's "robin hood" side and see if he could help us sway Kroft to keep her at his academy for extra protection and appeal to Kroft to remain unbiased. Or she can just throw herself on the mercy of Kroft and trust her that she will get to the bottom of this, since we think she is innocent. I am not sure if anyone likes this idea, or if we are even able to retcon, but I figured I would throw it out there.

I am not sure if anyone likes this idea, or if we are even able to retcon, but I figured I would throw it out there. Seems reasonable to this Player; this Character will do whatever Aria suggests. (In case someone hasn't picked up on it yet: Drow society is matriarchal, and Val was reared taking his orders from women.)

or if we are even able to retcon Given that a communication breakdown occurred on Friday - I accept full responsibility for that, as well as some other stuff - there will definitely be some retconning involved. We will likely resume at the Clubhouse, with the PCs determining what to do with poor Trinia.

Jareth - Maester Logain made a concentrated attempt to recruit you into Theumanexus College. The offer stands, should you be interested. Obviously, with their limited instructors, what you learn might be limited initially, but he definitely wants you as part of the alumni. Jareth would like to know: - What restrictions are placed on me if I join the College?
- (Nicely asked)Why does he teach here as opposed to the Acadamae?
- I don't know how to approach this but something along the lines as to why he is so interested in Jareth to join
- This is going to take awhile but I do want to gain his trust enough for him to be open about how he feels about the templars and the way the mages are treated in Korvosa. A kindred spirit with some power in uprising mages out of their prisoner-like status would be nice to have. Maybe an off the cuff comment about how irritating it is to be constantly questioned by the Templars and gauge his reaction... As he is a wizard, I hope that he went the more typical route and made Cha a dump stat as opposed to boosting it like I did.... I'm assuming Jareth knows what is on the Obsidian Portal wiki, so I am going to see if he still has that outspoken fire against the chantry or if it has been beaten out of him...
At the very least I will use him as a contact to get some spells off of when i level up I am not sure if anyone likes this idea, or if we are even able to retcon, but I figured I would throw it out there. Fine with me. I can't believe we all forgot about the one person a chaotic character would care about when the victim is innocent (in our eyes)... Jareth will gladly accept whichever choice she makes as it is her choice - even if that choice is "right" or "wrong"... as a chaotic character all that is important is she chooses..
