So I'm guessing it would be modified to work for non-prep spellcasters in this instance?

Oh ... yeah. I hadn't even thought of that. Had WxMAN? If not, we might be able to retcon it to something more apt...

Logically, we'd probably have taken them as well if we could and turned them over to the king since they're relics of his kingdom. Or at least, that's what Alain urges.

Rigil is right, it works very similarly to the Pearl of Power... essentially it allows spontaneous casters to recall any spell they've already cast that day... It works for any first or zero level spell once per day

If you want the specific entry for what they were... It is from MIC 164... Memento Magic Gems

Heh. I just realized who Fissue is. He's Vir Cotto ... which means, one day, he will be the king of the dwarves.

What was the general consensus about xp "costs" with spell casters? We touched on it when we were deciding our fixed XP system. If I remember right back then we were going to do away with it but I wasn't sure if that was set in stone.

Maybe use the Pathfinder rules which doesn't have XP costs.

Does anyone object?
We also need to make an official decision in regards to the massive damage thing. In this case, I would actually vote no because it's one more thing that needs to be tracked and determined by the GM, but I can go with the consensus.

I don't object and I think we just need to keep it simple. So I would lean towards just throwing it out for this campaign

General question: unidentified items. How do we want to handle these once the role GM is passed to another person? For example, we currently have 3 potions ("zombie guy"), 11 vials (5, 3, and 3), a Backpack, and 2 gems unidentified, all stemming from LabRat's run. Do we want her to ID them or does it fall to the next GM in the rotation (in this case, me) to assign their properties?

Old GM tells new GM what they are... up to the PC's to identify

I second that ... just transfer the knowledge of the items in question to the new GM

Upon reviewing this, I think it should be very limited in when it is used. These lines give me pause: "like the Leadership feat, it is meant as an option that DMs and players discuss together. Like the Leadership feat, the Wild Cohort feat gives the player access to another creature that can become powerful in its own right and therefore should be included in a campaign only when the DM judges it appropriate."
I think that if we're going to limit/forbid Leadership, this should also be verboten ... though I could be convinced otherwise.

based on that, I would agree...will just have to work out something different for the transition from mount to animal companion ...

*** During Traveling Montage***
Walmart D20 as needed for supplies and gear for the changing weather. Based on the fact that you're not from the area, cost of supplies will be @ 25% above DMG cost. Post a listof what you will be purchasing along with cost and total.
***End of Line***

We likely need a better description of where it is we're going. Is it flat and just icy? Or are there mountains that will need to be scaled? How cold is cold? How much travel time is actually expected? Everyone should get at least: - Cold Weather Outfit (7gp in DMG, so 8.75gp ... which is what? 8gp, 7sp, 5cp?)
- Tent (if you don't already have one, 10gp in DMG, so 12.5gp which is 12gp, 5 sp) to protect from the elements during the cold nights.
- Depending on the actual terrain, we may also need to purchase some spare animals to carry the likely significant amount of feed necessary for our steeds. Again, I have insufficient information about our destination and route to accurately guess on this.
And that doesn't even take into account a desire for other items (e.g., additional Healing Belts and so on.)

@chrisiii
Yes, we will need to know some more information. Also if its okay with you, if the price is something like 8.75, I am just going to round up. I don't have time to mess with silver and copper pieces. Also, depending on when you get back to us, I might need a few minutes before we start to figure out what I need. I just don't have a lot of time between now and when we game. Crazy week and all...
@everyone
From what I remember the spreadsheet is updated, right? Are each of us just taking a share? Depending on how much gold each of us gets, depends on what I can afford (and that was a stupid statement, but you know what I mean).

A small change of plans...
I talked with Daniel and asked him if it would be alright if I covered GMing for the next two weeks (10 May and 17 May). This will allow him to start his campaign right after our small break on 24 May and give me a chance to see what handling a cliffhanger is like... Hopefully y'all don't mind my eagerness to jump back in the hotseat for a couple more times before we put this campaign on hiatus
