I've been using some stuff from GURPS Reign of Steel to handle scavenging/scrounging, but I haven't been entirely satisfied with how it's turning out. So, I've been thinking, as usual, for a "better way." My latest attempt. Look it over and see if there's something you think needs adjusting and/or adding, or if you have any questions.

looks good, although I might need a little bit of training on how exactly it works

looks good, although I might need a little bit of training on how exactly it works Basic Instructions: Find out how much of usable whatever-it-is is available in a given structure (and surrounds) by cross-referencing the sort of structure being looked at (on the left) with whatever-it-is (on top) to get the starting letter-code. Apply modifiers to step up/down the letter-code (including Skill/Trait checks), to get the final letter-code. Letter-code's die-roll determines the number of units found. I'm hoping you'll spot any inconsistent, implausible, or missing indications on the grid, and/or modifiers. (For the record, you won't have to pay much attention to this, once it's settled—just the end-results)

Looks good to me though I am betting there will need to be more stuff added eventually

For the record: Derelict Vehicles- Along the highway between cities/towns, there will be 1d6-3 abandoned vehicles per 10 mile (or fraction) stretch
- Increased to 2d6-6 in the more built-up areas near larger cities
- Inside the city? 1d6-3 per 1-mile block?
