So given our overall alignment, half the party's love of alcohol, and the fact that we have a bard, I do believe we are going to establish D&D's very first fantasy Las Vegas

It certainly will be interesting to see what our future town/country will look like. I lean toward thinking very early US, maybe even pre-Constitution with those Articles of Confederation that we'll eventually have to replace because of having too limited a central authority?

I was thinking that as well, and when we have a governing body, I think it would be more of a council of equal voices rather than a monarchy. Equal representation and all that. And of course if Brevoy gets too grabby/oppressive, we are going to have to go to war to establish ourselves a free and independent nation. Of course that is if we don't get distracted and just open up a brothel with a flag and be done with it

Heh. A brothel with a flag. Heh.

This pertains to the whole group if anyone wants to chime in, but are we going to try to figure out a way we all know each other? Rigil and McN's characters are already settled with each other, but didn't know if we wanted to include everyone?

Six Degrees! Well, four degrees, really.
Given that McN's character is apparently a drinker, it's logical to presume that's where he knows yours and possibly Giger's. While Brynden isn't a hard partier, he might know you from an inn as well. I'm operating on presumption we're all at least casual acquaintances if not new friends...

That'll work. I'm sure Waylas took some time teaching Tess a bawdy song or two at a tavern, and she and Boh probably showed up at a whiskey tasting session (done every Thursday night for only 2 gp!), and Boh probably dragged your character to the event. We got to talking, decided to go adventuring, and someone said, "You know, what our party really needs is a bard!" Cue Walays doing a performance, and we literally just pick him off the stage and walk out. Done!

Okay, WxMAN, no pressure or anything, but I'm finding myself very much looking forward to this.

Well... I'm glad you are excited.... but do remember I am (still) new at GM'ing which means there may be some stutters, bad decisions, etc. I will need feedback from y'all to help hone in on what works, what doesn't and what could be added, etc.
I would love nothing more than to actually run all the way through the module (though I am tweaking it a bunch to my liking and whatnot), not in one continuous run, but hopefully as quickly as possible while letting everyone else run things they want and not rushing the campaign or burning out myself.

Bah, you'll be fine. Like you said, all it took for me was an albino bog moose for my game to make an impact.

Agreed. Nothing to worry about. When both you and LabRat ran, I was very impressed as you were first-time GMs and did better than some of the 10+ year GMs I've had in the past.

Question for the GM. Under the feat natural spell, the perquisite is wisdom 13 and wild shape class feature. Can I take the feat before I reach 4th level or do I have to wait until after? 4th level is when I pick up the wild shape class ability.

Post by WxMAN on Sept 6, 2015 18:36:04 GMT -6
You can take the feat at 4th level as pathfinder character advancement goes 1. Class, 2. Ability Score, 3. HP, 4. Skills and Feats.
As you gain wild shape on your Druid 4th level you meet the natural spell feat requirement at that moment you choose that class and you still get to select feat - therefore you qualify (and may select it) at 4th level.

Anything else you need from us before game kickoff?

Liquor. I'm trying to start out with very minimal requirements from the players, so just a basic background (with a few hooks I can use if possible) and a reason to start the opening plot of the game. I'm hoping each player's PC grows organically and I think if everyone likes the campaign there will be a ton of stuff for the PCs to do and decide, where each player can use their own personal talents to bring some extra life to the campaign world. I don't want to have all the player's do a ton of up front work so the campaign doesn't feel like a chore before it gets started.

I've added some stuff to the Kingmaker spreadsheets. Giger, need this link added to the forum so we don't have to hunt it down.

So, I know that as the GMs wife, I may be required to say this, but please understand my honesty and sincerity when I say that I think N8 did a really good job last night. Considering his experience, he had a really good session and came off more as a well seasoned GM instead of a newbie. Anyway just wanted to congratulate him on his successful first session. This is shaping up to be a awesome campaign.

Thanks folks... I thought it went OK. It is the first session so I expected a lot of bumpiness. We'll see how things continue, I have a lot of areas of GMing I want and need to work on.
Also, XP is up. 600 a piece. It is going to be very interesting to see if I can keep y'all where you need to be for the adventure path.

First, yeah, I'm up waaaaaayyyy too late. Simply cannot go to sleep. I'm so not tired that it's painful. I just know tomorrow ... er ... today is going to suck.
Second, what's the rule on character alterations? I know you said that you were going to allow changes within the first couple of sessions and I'm thinking about changing my dude from a Ranger to a straight Fighter since MagMan has all of the woodlandsy survival stuff squared away.

Feel free to change it up if you'd like. First couple sessions are fine, as long as you let me know so I can adjust things accordingly. Still wanting to become a swordlord and same backstory?

Nothing will change in that regard, really. A couple of my skills will go down slightly, I'll no longer have the favored enemy (humans) +2 bonus, but I'll end up with another feat so my AC is probably going to tick up by 1 (due to Dodge.) But I'm still going to be trained in Stealth and Survival, so really, not much from last Friday would have gone very differently.

You guys could have been playing A Bards Tale: The Bardening and it still would have been a slaughterhouse on Friday.
