Questions for y'all: Do you want a wiki-esque or obsidian portal site for this campaign? Would you actually use it? Will it be worth the time and effort it takes to fill out for the better understanding and campaign buy-in?

I would use obsidian portal or wiki-esque. Whichever would be easier for you.
And yes I enjoyed the game Friday.

Just to double check - I am first asking if you guys would want it to begin with?

Comes down to value added. Will it also help you as the GM or is it just extra work? The reason I tend to do the Portals thing for Red Sky (or the wiki for my Saturday game) is because it actually helps me stay organized. As a GM, I think I actually prefer the Portals because I can add GM Notes to characters and locations and the like, something you can't do ... or rather, I can't do with a wiki, but I find them both of use.

I do refer to a wiki/OP site in order to remember exactly what the heck is going on. If you decide to do one, then I would use it.
As far as personal experience in terms of GM-ing, I failed horribly when it came to keeping my OP site updated during the campaign. Between running a home brew, doing power points, and keeping up with the portal, something had to give. I now regret that decision, so now I have to refer to my copious notes in order to figure out what exactly happened. To me OP is a life saver when it comes to going back to a campaign you haven't seen in a while. That's where its usefulness really shines.

Before you go the OP/Blog/Wiki route, be sure it's actually worth it—as Rigil suggested. Our Sat group started a wiki to keep track of the large numbers of NPCs we had accumulated over some lengthy campaigns, in such a way that we could search the wiki for "that guy." Not all campaigns will benefit from it. The Fallout game for our Sat group really didn't need it, primarily because a Fallout wiki already existed, and it would have been repeating a lot of the same info. I've got a similar problem with the Terra Nova game: I'm still waffling over whether or not it makes sense just to track just the characters/etc that aren't on the existing wiki. We're using the wiki for the Traveller game as well, but it's somewhat less useful there—most of the characters we meet there will not be encountered again; even so, sometimes it's useful to be able to say "we did x at that planet" for reference.
As far as recording what happened in-game goes, you don't need anything special for that, unless you're wanting to "publish" it for public consumption—in which case a blog is a better choice.
OP is a bit clunky and slow, still, but it kinda combines the blog and wiki in a functional-enough manner to make it maybe worth using if you need both.

Not that I am complaining but when one of us sits out and someone else runs our character they are usually awarded half xp. Not that I am complaining I survived Thanks Gigermann! Have you decided yet if you were going to use op or wikis or neither?

Not that I am complaining but when one of us sits out and someone else runs our character they are usually awarded half xp. Not that I am complaining I know. The character was at risk the entire time and it isn't like attendance is a problem, so penalizing someone just isn't my thing when someone has to be absent now and again. Have you decided yet if you were going to use op or wikis or neither? I will probably do OP, but it may be a week or two until I actually can get to it - work kind of spooled up this week.

Added Character to OP.
Rigil I am having the same issues with the character stats I had when I did Red Sky. (Skills have a line running through the center) I know there's a fix but I can't remember what is was. Do you?

Added Character to OP. Rigil I am having the same issues with the character stats I had when I did Red Sky. (Skills have a line running through the center) I know there's a fix but I can't remember what is was. Do you? The reason for that is the + signs. Obsidian portal is translating them oddly. There are two solutions, really: - Copy your intended stat block into notepad, then do a find and replace for all + signs to add an additional space after the + (so a +2 will become + 2.)Copy this new stat block into your OP character.
- Do like I did and choose a Dynamic Style Sheet, then populate it. This will take longer but, IMHO, looks better. Plus, if it is kept up to date, then if/when a person is absent, the rest of the group can consult that sheet for that person's character sheet.
Let me know if you still have trouble.

Now that we have a decent sum of money and plenty of decent trade items, Andrei is likely going to order a Masterwork Agile Breastplate (550gp) and possibly also a MW Aldori dueling sword (320gp) ... unless there going to be an existing mechanic for upgrading weapons (although even if there is, I expect it would need to at least begin at MW so I'll likely still need to make the order...)

All adventure logs are now finished.
As far as the upgrading the weapons, I was fine with hand-waiving that you could improve a weapon from standard->masterword->magic 1->magic 2, etc etc if the player/character desires it. If that is the case, I'm sure Oleg would just so happen to have a Aldori dueling sword (or whatever else the player would want to be upgrading) the character could borrow while their weapon is sent off for "upgrading"

XP and Obsidian Portal's Adventure log updated.
McN, there are plans for you to get a stag if you can find and capture one, but y'all took a much different path than I expected and were not in the territory where the elk or deer roam. So we'll get to it at the next session you are at hopefully.

Really enjoyed the game Friday A couple of questions: How long will it take to rear a wild animal? or domesticate it? When will I roll? Before or after said time?

Post by WxMAN on Oct 5, 2015 17:50:35 GMT -6
Domesticating the animal will take a week, with three hours a day spent on domesticating it. There is a handle animal/wild empathy check performed at the end of this training DC 15+Animal's HD. Once it is domesticated you can then train it for a purpose - which is handled under the handle animal skill www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/handle-animal As with domestication, this takes a week of training spending at least 3 hours a day. A handle animal/wild empathy check is performed the end of this training.

Indeed!
One of the things I think I'm going to have Andrei do is actually engage Jhod in conversation. This will ultimately start the ball rolling toward Andrei's alignment shift toward Neutral Good (which I think will probably be his final alignment as it is more structured but isn't rigid and narrow-minded (Lawful.)) I'm thinking that this might serve as a 'confession' or something about executing the captured bandit guy; like maybe Tess' irritation at him (and Walker's as well, I think) over this has sort of festered and made him start to question some things so he seeks out a holy man who is not involved and will thus not already have an opinion. And it could possibly even lead to a favored deity shift to Iomedae for Andrei...
