Started playing it after work. The fangberry cave was fraking brutal. I'd forgotten how much I freaking hate swarms in 3.5/PF ... they kicked my ass. Hard. Thrice. Thankfully, the rather mediocre NPC cleric I had with me - who they really gimped from the beta; the dude can't wear any damned armor and he has a strength of 9! - had memorized Firebelly so he could basically do a mini-breath weapon attack for a couple of rounds (same effect as a burning hands, I think.) But ugh ...

And he's just wearing a chainshirt. Though that breaks down to this: - Base 10
- Dexterity +3
- Deflection +2 (Ring of Protection +2)
- Armor +6 (Chainshirt +2)
- Shield +4 (Shield spell)
- Natural Armor +2 (Wyvern Skin Cloak)
- Dodge +1 (Dodge feat)
- Dodge +2 (Combat Expertise feat)
- Dodge +3 (Fighting Defensively; it's +3 due to ranks in Mobility and is normally +2)
- Dodge +5 (Canny Defense, which adds Intelligence bonus = to Magus level as dodge bonus)

Nope. Shield spell makes you immune to Magic Missile. Also? I totally hit AC 40 after buffing right before a big fight...

Well, to be fair, I haven't even gotten through chapter 3 ... ETA: I've also seen some people complaining that its best as a "Loading Screen Simulator" ... and there's some credence to that. They really need to optimize those screens...

Interesting note: they actually threw in an almost rebellion in the video game for me. Sadly, it was just something I set one of my advisers on - note for the future: I'm going to record what that looks like and upload it to YouTube so you can see in the event it gives you future ideas - but it was pretty interesting in that it was a bandit leader who wanted to basically depose the baron and return to the way things were. Which, I suppose, sort of makes some half-assed sense if said bandit guy is CE since my character and the realm are both LG.

Interesting b/c the flavor of the region in general is chaotic (Rostland, Mivon, etc)... I can imagine a lawful kingdom would have a lot of problems
