I am starting to work on Return to The Keep On The Borderlands and would like some input from the group. What I would like is some names for local terrain features, Using names that would fit in Gigermann's ForgottenGreyLanceRRON Generica World. Such as: A Forest, Swamp, River and Lake.

Is it an evil forest? If so, then go with Black Forest. Could go with Long River (if it's long) or Short River is not. Lake could be Crystal Lake ... where Jason lives!

Got a "River Long" already. And "Broad."

Would be sensible for a jungle/swamp waterway

I don't want this post to come off as negative, but I'm a bit confused. What is the "pitch/plot/purpose" of this campaign? We have a really good PF hex crawl going on with Kingmaker, so how is this one going to be different? Are we just exploring for exploring sake or is there a greater purpose? I guess I am just hitting the *request more information* button.

Greywood Forest The Restless Swamp Lake Shallow River known as The Dragon's Tongue (may not be generic enough) River only know as The Windings

If he doesn't use Shallow Lake or Winding River, I will

I think "the point" would be: - Pure sandbox using existing module
- No realm-management
- Different GM + N8 gets to play

Purpose, Goals: I am going to run a mix of a classic module Keep Of The Borderlands by Gary Gygax and a remake Return To The Keep On The Borderlands. The adventure takes place in and around a Keep, The Caves Of Chaos and surrounding area. The caves in both mods take place in very close proximity to one another, which makes no sense. Seeing how well the hex crawl works I decided to give it a rework. I am not trying to do a Kingmaker PF hex crawl! Its been awhile since anyone has run 3.5 and with everyone being more familiar PF decided to go with PF instead of 3.5. Looking to do more of a sandbox with these modules as Gigermann states and a hex grid will help with placement of locations. Pitch/ Plot: Or is there one. Maybe you're looking for something besides the everyday toil of life. What better place to go than the borderlands seeking adventure, wealth or power you might be a hero or a villain. Who knows? Hope this helps.. Thanks for the names

Okay, thanks for the info. I didn't realize you were running a module so that clears a lot of things up. Now that I understand the "flavor" I'll start thinking about characters

I'm planning to bring back Garrett (Rogue, second-story-man ripped from the Thief game(s))

I haven't firmly decided on anything, but right now, I'm kind of leaning toward the Witch class in Pathfinder simply because it's different from the kind of class I normally play (as in dedicated spellcaster instead of a martial guy.)

Intro
The Little Keep On The Borderlands is in an area claimed by none. It is of scattered Hamlets and people trying to make a new stake on life on their own or to prey on others. It lies between the kingdoms of Naboria, Generica and The Poorlands to the north and the kingdoms of Halfshire and Elfwood to the south. The Little Keep sits off the North Road (really no more than a well used trail) that is used by the Elves and Halflings as a trade route to the kingdoms to the north and vise versa. But unfortunately it also sits at the northern most part of the Hills Of Chaos. The Hills and the surrounding land is a hard land both of hardship and death but it is also a land of opportunity for those willing to risk it all. And so it is here at the foot of The Little Keep On The Borderlands that you find yourselves all strangers but willing to band together for a common goal or not.......
