With your lordship’s consent, I desire to improve the dwarven population within this realm.
I desire to use my own labor to plant the seed that will attract these dwarves.
As we know dwarves are a good, stable, and law abiding folk. Increasing our population would improve stability, improve our labor force, and bring talented artisans into the realm.
In the immediate future, my hope is to use my labors to build a shrine and smithy to Torag.Torag who greatly favors good, protection, and law. A mighty advocate of community, and stability. One whose warriors understand the value and virtue of strategy. Whose smiths and artificers work tirelessly to please the lord of the forge and improve their community.
There may be concerns, but let me attempt to alleviate one’s fears. Torag does not find malice towards those who seek good, and the protection of community. Torag is known to be on good terms with Erastil and even Cayden. Yes, Torag has little love for the violent nature of Gorum, but such conflicts between worshipers for both sects are derived from the violent orcs, goblins, giants, and others who seek to take dwarven lands. I do not see a population dedicated to wanton violence here. However, should our poly-theistic high priest say nay, then I guess we must reconsider the freedoms present in our realm, and regrettably I will warn such dwarves away.
Where do I seek to begin the community? I seek to begin this community within Varnhold and its environs. The people there have demanded a mine, and in my lord’s wisdom has provided it. I feel what better place than there for dwarves to start and show off their talents. Varnhold is also near the mountains, an auspicious location for my folk, a place that they can feel at home, and leverage their talents to the betterment of this fine kingdom. A place where the community can grow without impacting the nature that surrounds its environs. The community of Varhold is also closest to Restov, and Brunderton to the north. Providing direct paths to each.
I also desire to create a highway that leads into Mivon to which Fort Khro Sirk is to stand sentinel. Protecting those who wish to trade as it has in the past.
Furthermore, I desire within the future to build a home and tower dedicated to the study of the arcane arts. I feel it appropriate to place this within the environs of Varnhold as well. There are many plots in which I can build, both to view the majesty of the mountains, and oversee the growth of the fledgling dwarven community. I do not seek to shirk my duties as magister, as I will be able to return to the capital at a moment's notice should I be needed.
I seek also to enlist the add of other mages and wizards, and potentially create a cabal. One dedicated to the study of the arcane sites within this realm, but also one ready to aid in the realm's defense. No, this is not to be a place of teaching, the honorable Babus has that task. This group would be dedicated to taking arcane action when needed.
I do not ask the kingdom’s gold for these endeavours. I only ask for its consent. Should my efforts fail, it is only my loss to be had. Should my efforts succeed, then it is to the kingdom’s gain.
