Although my game goes on hiatus in two weeks, a little bit of help would be appreciated from you guys regarding the future direction. Specifically:
1. What do you want to see? 2. What do you want to do? 3. Does your CHARACTER have any long-term goals that I can work into the game? 4. What sort of crap do the Player want me to pile onto the character? (Remember, "Drama!")
Once we actually go on hiatus, I'll have additional questions regarding what the character does during the "down-time" but the above will give me a starting point...

Actually, I want to hunt for the next piece of the rod. We kinda need that. You know, fighting the forces of chaos and all.

So, is there nothing that anyone (aside from Esque) wishes to see?

Just the baby-momma? You ain't concerned about the kid at all, just want to tag that ass again, eh?
Figures. All this high-and-mighty story and all we get is one of the main characters wants to get his Bronsky on. Meh.

Don't hate the Playa, just hate the game baby.
And for the record, she hasn't had the kid yet.

Tracking down and exterminating Eldacar son of Sigeric the lowly one distroyed the House of Red Leaves. And if at all possible use some more forbidden techniques on his ass again.

OK, so I've got three responses. That's it.
1. Track down the next piece of the Rod of Seven Parts 2. Find "my baby's momma" - Done 3. Hunt down an Enemy (Cyrus)
Others? Come on, people, there's got to be something you want to see...

Gil hasn't killed any orcs in a long time...he's feeling very constricted.
Besides that, there's still some blood-soaked pincushion revenge that has yet to be meted out, in regards to his ol' buddy, Whiteskin.
An audience with the god(s)...not for bad reasons, I hope. Just a wild hair...
Greyhawk "celeb" cameos/interactions.

Right. Updated list is: 1. Track down the next piece of the Rod of Seven Parts (SQ) 2. Hunt down an Enemy (McN) 3. Kill some orcs, especially Mognash the White. (Dan) 4. An audience with the god(s). (Dan) (Hmm....) 5. Greyhawk "celeb" cameos/interactions. (Dan) I like it. Now, how can I get the gods together...aside from Ragnarok, that is.

Ooh! Like a Greyhawk version of the Samurai Jack 2-parter with his dad! That'd rock.

That's a whole lot more difficult than you would expect, what with the Greyhawk gods having a pact of non-interference for fear of causing a full-out Ragnarok type of battle.
I'll see what I can do though...
Now where is my Planescape stuff...?

We could use a "regular" source of income...this would be a good place for it, what with taxes and all. Not that we've necessarily been hurting for cash recently, but a little financial stability would not go amiss...

Coming up with a regular source of income would also necessitate you guys establishing some sort of actual government to collect said taxes in the Vale. See the Future of the Vale thread for more on that...

Actually, I want to hunt for the next piece of the rod. We kinda need that. You know, fighting the forces of chaos and all. How are you going to do that? Spells? Physical searches? Access to information gained through the sacrifice of virgins? What?

well, we have a library at our disposal now (I hope). Maybe do a little research, concentrait on the rod, break out a map, and figure out which location it is most likely to be in.
Or we could use triangulation. Teleport to one point, figure out where the rod points, then teleport to another location, et cetera.

Post by Rigil Kent on Jan 19, 2005 17:07:46 GMT -6
The Rod is not a weegee board although the triangulation method is a good idea as well.
There is a library, although it is relatively small; I suppose we could use a Gather Information check (replacing the Charisma modifer with Intelligence) to determine what could be gleaned through these books.
Don't forget spells; you have a number of information-gathering spells at your disposal (and when I say you, I mean the Company.)
Also, it occurred to me that since you guys will be leaving the Valley to hunt for the Rod that you will need some form of rapid communication with those you leave in charge while you are gone. How do you plan to facilitate this?

Sounds like Nival needs to get to work on a point to point communications spell. You could call it Nival's Instant Messenger. It would probably be pretty high level, but you might be able to knock 1 level off if you put in a restriction that all your dialogue must be like so:
Person A: u there? Person B: y Person A: LOL whut r u doin Person B: pwning this biatch who stole a sheep from some asshat. Person A: lol Person B: lol Person A: omfg did u collect $$!?
etc.

Yeah. However a Wisdom check is required (DC 15+/-5) each time you use such lingo just to comprehend what the heck has been said. I'm sure Mike can come up with something interesting; he usually does...
