McN said that the game would pick up some month(s) after the end of the last run.
Ulræd will be spending quite a bit of time tending his Secret Grove (by now, he has probably cast Awaken on the central tree of the grove), and probably working up some alchemical stuff—details later. Also, he'll be going around helping local farmers via plant-growth spells and such, & wandering from colony to colony, doing Good™, esp helping travelers vs jungle creatures.

OK, made some adjustments here based on some minor tweaks to the character. First and foremost, since I'm backing away from the Fiendish Legacy feat, that means Mazrim isn't going to have spent a whole lot of time researching the family history. Instead, during the two or three months (or however long - I recommend 3 mos, but that's just me) of down time (presumption on my part), he's pretty much going to be spending all that time courting Lady Lavinia and doing what he can to make himself indispensible to her. With his alignment (LN), I kind of see Mazrim as having a very strict upbringing ("no time for love, Doctor Jones!") so his courting of Lavinia has led him into that dangerous place of First Love. (Yowch!)
Mazrim is also genuinely concerned about following in his father's footsteps. Since we never established what exactly was up with dear old dead dad, I'm going to say the guy was Lawful Evil and he was a Very Bad Man who did all the stereotypical Evil Noble crap. Since Mazrim inherited the Lawful part of his alignment from Dad, he's worried that he could eventually slide toward Evil as well, especially since there have been numerous instances wherein someone in the Know has indicated he could go dark. Thus, the instant that Lady Levinia indicates she's onboard with a marriage, Mazrim is going to start consulting with that cleric Aaron use to play (Galadin, I think) and inquire about possibly incorporating an actual Geas (Galadin would call it Quest, I think) into Mazrim's part of the marriage oath. (Hey, he's Lawful. He's gonna take this marriage thing way too seriously.) Haven't yet figured out the specifics - will likely need to coordinate with GM - but the generalities are going to be that he (Mazrim) does everything within his power & abilities to honor, cherish and protect his wife without ever seeking to supplant her position as the rightful ruler of Farshore.
He is also dealing with getting his sister settled in the village. Her being an actual Healer means she's going to be popular, I suspect, and since she shares Lavinia's alignment of NG, I kind of see them getting along fabulously, especially once Malinza realized that her brother is frankly besotted with Lady Vanderboren. I even thought it would be amusing if they knew each other from Sasserine; maybe they're of an age and were friends back in the day. Its easy enough to explain why Mazrim was unaware that they knew each other - he was at the warmage academy (or whatever it was called.)
He is interested in having a warmage's tower constructed - ideally as part of an expansion to the Vanderboren mansion, once the marriage goes through, but that's something that's for down the road.
So mostly? He's going to spend the time courting Lavinia.

Just as an aside, but does the GM already have plans for Saint Michael? I was thinking it would totally fit his character if, one day, he simply gets up and heads into the island's interior where he could be functioning as a missionary to the Olmans there. Just an idea.

Vesserin Catherly the (NG Chaplain of Farshore) has already established that there is a cleric of Pelor on the island spreading his faith. Instead he tells Galadin that he knows that she is here (never says who she is), Then disappears the next day. Some say they seen him leave in a fishing boat bond for the Isle of Dread.

Per conversation with the GM during our trip to Dallas on Turkey Day '11, I have officially changed Mazrim's alignment to True Neutral predicated on a number of factors: - His betrothed/wife is Neutral Good and has been a moderating influence upon him, thus allowing him to relax.
- His sister is also Neutral Good and has finally convinced him that he's not going to turn into their father.
- All of his friends are Neutral or Chaotic, which has resulted in him loosening up somewhat.
- I haven't exactly played him as a Lawful character.
Looking forward to resuming this at some point!

With Moohkah moving on but Jocelyn remaining in the group, I was thinking that how we could explain this is that Jocelyn becomes the captain of Lady Levinia's House Guard (which, at this point, my consist of Jocelyn and ... maybe nobody.)
Just an idea...

I am not going to say no, but Lady Vanderboren did not really know Jocelyn very well, long enough (she is not currently around to do that) and the Jade Ravens would most likely not accept her as their leader. More likely you would ask her to join the Storm Crows after adventuring with Jocelyn knowing that she can hold her own. After rescuing Lady Vanderboren would be more likely. If you can come up with something else bring it. Unless Mazrim so decree's it in her name.

Unless Mazrim so decree's it in her name. No, Mazrim would never do anything like that. What he might do, though, is actually buy out Jocelyn's contract with Moohkah, especially once he knows that his dad was responsible for her father's incarceration (did we ever resolve that in-game? I don't think we did.) I guess if she still needed "a job," he could hire her as a bodyguard for his sister...

Actually we did resolve that during the first session. Moohkah didn't let Jocelyn out of her contract so she was still forced to go with him. We can always just spin it that she got her taste of adventure and treasure and thinks its a good idea to continue to tag along with the party.

With the above in mind, we will likely need to figure out an alternate method of getting Jocelyn out of her contract with Moohkah. Much of it is predicated on what happens to Moohkah or what he does - if he dies tragically while on a nature call (did Mimi eat him? We'll never know!), that makes things remarkably easy. But it's also really sloppy and lazy on our part.
Mayhap the player who ran Moohkah can come up with an explanation or idea?

I'm up for McN murdering Mookah if he wishes to show that the enemy means serious business... "As if killing the bard impresses us"
If he doesn't wish to kill Mookah...
Mookah is very sick of this adventuring BS... he is heading home and doesn't really need a bodyguard anymore, so he will release her from her contract...
