Sorry for the multitude of questions but I have 2 more: 1. Are we getting the bonus feats found in the Savage Tide's Players guide? ie if you are a member of the Noble District you can choose between Academy Graduate or Knack for Magic 2. Also if someone would be kind enough to show up around 6:30 tomorrow Shelley and I could use a quick encounter just to make sure we have the basics of the new (to us) classes... Just a couple of nameless goons or something, nothing elaborate... and we can quit when its over or when enough people get in? I would run one for Shelley but I am sure I would mess something up and tell her the wrong thing

1) Initially, the GM did give us one of those for free. I know my latest character did not, but I probably forgot about it.
2) I wouldn't fret too much over it. McN knows he's got some noobs to acclimate, and I think he's already said he wanted to something easy to get everybody back in the proper mindset (or did we say that?). If you show up at 6:30, though, someone will be here—but maybe not the GM.

Tweaking the character a bit...
I wish to make my weapon a +1 Harmonizing... My concept of the +1 stuff is a +1 weapon gives you +1 to attack and damage, right? So if I wanted to make my weapon +1 to hit and damage, and harmonize (MIC pg 35) would I pay 2,000 GP for the +1, then 2,000 for the harmonizing (adding up to 4,000GP) or do I just declare it a +1 harmonizing and pay the 2000 GP?

No, you misunderstand. The +1 bonus for Harmonize is in addition to the normal +1 bonus, so for price purposes, a +1 Harmonized weapon is a +2 weapon (8000gp, DMG p222.)

[vader]Noooooooooooo![/vader] So anyway... I think I figured the bard out in terms of fighting and everything and I just wanted to make sure my reading of the rules is correct (the following is a general encounter): Round 1: Pull out fiddle, activate "Badge of Valor" (MIC 208), start "Inspire Courage" (PHB 29), this will get everyone a +3 to attack and damage.. Round 2: Put away fiddle and pull out +1 Harmonic Heavy Crossbow... This will allow the bardic music to keep going. I now have several options: - I can cast spells, using feat "Melodic Casting" (CM 44) while using Bardic Music.
- I can fire my crossbow.
- I could also keep my crossbow in my off hand, pull out my Longsword and use my 2nd level spell "Whirling Blade" (SPC 238) to throw it at dudes.
Is this a proper interpretation of how the feats/equipment/weapons work together? Also, I am thinking of picking up the 2nd level bard spell "Harmonic Chorus" (SPC 110). Would this help your characters Rigil and Gigermann enough for me to justify getting that spell? Would it be a useful spell to have?

Very interesting. Sounds like you've got the right idea. Re: Harmonic Chorus—Save DCs will be helpful, certainly. Have to check individual spells to see what sort of benefit they might get from the CL increase, but I suspect that will be useful as well. This spell might be a killer For those of us in a "support role," it often helps to think of the other team members as "your weapons."

Also, any idea how to declare the crossbow a +1 harmonic crossbow on HeroForge? The +1 is easy, but I don't know how to make it appear as harmonic

Also, any idea how to declare the crossbow a +1 harmonic crossbow on HeroForge? The +1 is easy, but I don't know how to make it appear as harmonic On the Attacks tab, Overrides (at the bottom), "Props"—causes whatever you put there to appear in the "properties" box on the character sheet's attack block. Note that this will replace whatever's there already, so you might want to include that stuff.

Attaching my current thoughts for Moohkah... I don't see much other changes being needed, though your suggestions are always welcome so I don't end up helping the enemy more than our own team Also: Fleet Admiral Ferdinand Flicknflack demands proper placement upon the Stormcrows lineup! Attachments:

Alright... I was going back over my character... Am I misunderstanding something or should I not take perform (string instruments) and instead take perform (sing)... the way I am reading the rules, I cannot active stuff like Inspire Courage... and I quote
The only thing I can think about is I can still start it by singing, but if I need to do a 'Concentration' check I would be doing it against Perform (Sing) and not Perform(String)... this would be bad... last minute rebuild time?

An instrumental piece is still a "song," IMO.
Don't over-complicate this one. Really, a Bard's "performance" is his Focus, same as a Cleric's Divine Focus. It's just a spell-component. Whatever his "thing" is isn't really relevant.

"Guitar solo!" Cue everyone in the party head-banging or breaking out their continual flame lighters so they can sway with the awesomeness that is a guitar solo. No words necessary.

IDK... seems needlessly complicated to have an instrument at all... what good does it do if I could just sing to activate all of my spells?

You can't do a guitar solo with singing.

True, but who cares about my fiddle solo if I can do all the same stuff using only my words.. ie I now have 2 free hands, etc as opposed to having both hands occupied with my fiddle?

Only thing: you can't use a Masterwork or magical "voicebox." Otherwise, you're correct. Wouldn't hurt to be able to do both, though.

Hmmm... does the bardic music stuff work on me as well as my allies? Cause it would suck to give people a +4 to attack and damage and not get it myself

Ha! I don't think that would be a good idea right now since he is primarily a singer, and secondarily a fiddle player.... He may return to his fiddle playing days later when he gets some more skill points... Also, attached my spell list. The light brown shading are spells I can cast once a day based on my Gnomish heritage. The spotted (brown and grey) spell - ghost spell - I have once a day as well as a spontaneous spell I can cast. Ah.. another question... Looking at the MIC... My Badge of Valor has 2 different prices... one says it is 1,200 (pg 207) gold and the other is 1,400 (pg 208) gold... 200 gold difference.. checked for some errata but couldn't find it... thoughts?
