The year is 1877.
I has been one year since “The Massacre of 1876” that occurred in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
From the ashes and blood, the people rose up, dusted themselves off and proceeded to go about their daily lives.
Common belief is that Union sympathizers infiltrated the upper crust of Santa Fe and proceeded to destroy the town leadership in a blaze of glory.
Doctor Cross’ attempt at a mayoral run was dashed as an actual “Politician” rolled into town and convinced the populace that a Politician was exactly what they needed. He spends most of his days in Cross Manor. Only leaving to tend to the rare home visit to the wealthier section of the Santa Fe populace.
B & S Detective Agency has experienced some hard times and is finding it difficult to remain in the black. Connection to underhanded dealings in relations to Nathaniel Cross’ political career have painted the Agency with a negative light.
Annie left town very abruptly after the events of the “Massacre”. She hasn’t been heard from since.
Milly’s establishment was shut down by prohibitionists in early march. Since then, she has become more and more distant, eventually absolving most contacts. As she is seen around town, it does appear that she is still doing well for herself.
Soaring Eagle disappeared shortly after being released from the local prison. A large group of the “Boys in Grey” attempted to rough him up…he retaliated. His trial was swift. The verdict was, by most standards, a mere slap on the wrist. Six months in prison for the assault of twelve confederate soldiers.
Freddie was last seen heading into one of the multitude of opium dens deep within the Asian district of Santa Fe. He hasn't cralled out yet.
David gave up his quest for the truth, and found his true calling. Botany (If you can call it that.). He currently runs a green house/herb despensory on the northern outskirts of town.
