We're headed to the nearest "big" city to gear-up before Eriador calls us back to duty...possibly the Caravaan City. Time for Wal-Mart D20 ;D Erunámo is looking for the following items, pending GM approval: - MW Studded Leather barding for Tindómë
- Another Wand o' Cure Light
- Possibly, Wand(s) o' [Useful Divine/Druid Spells]
- (MW) Healer's Kit
- Assuming the Staff of Healing can't be safely used as a quarterstaff, he'll be ditching his MW Spear for a MW quarterstaff
I'm assuming most magic weapons/armors are out of his price-range. I'll update this list as I think of anything. Additionally, Erunámo will be taking note of the territory he's in, learning the lay of the land, to determine its fitness for a new "home." He'll be taking a particular interest in druids' activites in the area. More on that stuff later...

The only thing that Dernhelm is looking to buy is a Quiver of Ehlonna, which is 1800gp. As I have 2000 and something, that will leave me with a hundred gp or so that I can contribute to any other party members who are seeking magic items that are just out of price range...

All of those should be able to be found in the city...The name is Four Winds btw.
FOUR WINDS: Large City: Conventional; AL LN; 60,000 gp limit; Assets 56,040,000 gp; Population 18,680; Mixed (80% Human, 8% halfling, 4% gnome, 3% dwarf, 2% elf, 1% half-elf, 1% half-orc, 1% other).
Reason for the large GP limit is that this is a trade city built on the corner of 3 large duchy's.

Ongoing QuestionAs previously stated, Erunámo was to be "spying" out the land as the group traveled. Here are some questions (for the GM) that he was attempting to answer: - What sort of land/country is this (terrain, size)? Ratio of wilderness vs. settled area?
- What is the "average Alignment" of the area?
- What sort of flora/fauna are native to this area, as well as unique life forms?
- Where is the ecological balance here (ratio of predator vs. prey; is one over/under-hunted, etc.)
- How many druids are active in this area, and how strong are they?
- What is the local population's attitude toward Nature™ (burn-it-all, live-and-let-live, eco-Nazis, etc.)?
- Does he get the impression we'll be staying here (read: Does the GM plan for us to stay in the area)?
Party QuestionDo we intend to charge off immediately into the sewers after the invisible menace, or do we wait until morning, when the trail is cold but we are, ourselves, less-so? Erunámo needs some time (1hr?) to reslot spells, as he put that operation off until after the party was to be over (normally sunset), just in case this sort of thing happened...he had a bad feeling.

Erunámo's shopping list, pending GM comment: - Pestle & Mortar...5gp
- Mess Kit...6sp
- Tree Tent, Elven (Elven-styled, not necessarily Elven-made)...30gp
Party Recommendations, from Arms & Equipment Guide: - Armor Maintenance Kit...1sp
- Banner/Standard...30gp+ (probably need to be custom-made, though)
- Snorkel (for McN ;D )...1gp
- Tent, Four Person...20gp
- Tent, Pavilion...100gp
- Tabard...5sp (MW?; probably custom-made, to match banner)
- Gnomish Golden Light Ale...10gp/gallon
- Dwarven Stout...30gp/gallon
- Mead, Elven...60gp/gallon
- Keg, Hand...5sp (capacity not specified in the text...1 gallon?)
- Keg, Cask...1gp (capacity not specified in the text)
Party Questions:We're headed out in the morning. Are we going straight for Kvatch and the paladin, or are we detouring to the Glittereyes monument? If we're detouring, what is anyone else planning to do while the gnome sings Koombayah at the foot of the statue? It should also be noted that I am currently in possession of the Dagger of Brilliant Energy, which as it stands, is not incredibly useful to the party (being merely a dagger). Selling it (at the usual 50% knock-off) will get us ~16000gp for the party, and can get us some useful stuff in trade. We could maybe attempt to haggle the price up a bit, too. Should we sell it? Any recommendations as to what should we buy from the proceeds? I have a couple: - Folding Boat (~7500gp, I think)
- Spool of Endless Rope (2000gp)
- Bag of Holding (2500+ gp)
- Mithral Breastplate for Dernhelm (~5-6000gp)
- Wand of Bull's Strength (4500gp)
- 2 sets of Gauntlets of Ogre Power (4000gp ea.)

Ok...as a rule, items over 5k selling price will take a gather information check to find a buyer.
The DC for it is equal to the selling price (i.e. 50%) / 1000. So, the DC to sell the dagger would by 16.
Furthermore, the time required for a standard time required for a GI check is 1d4 + 1 hours. I'm incurring a +1 for every point over 10. So for the dagger, the gather information check will take 1d4 + 6 hours to find a buyer.
Do we have any problems with this??

Seems reasonable. We have time. Who has the highest Gather Info skill, I wonder?

What did we determine with this, by the way? I'm all for getting rid of the dagger and replacing it with a bunch of the above stuff although I'd actually suggest looking at some boots of striding and springing instead of the breastplate. Our two tanks are slow movers and I'd like to get them into the fight quicker ... especially since I'm not likely to stand in one spot during the fight anyway...

I recommend the following: - Gauntlets of Ogre Power, 2x...8000gp
- Bag of Holding I...2500gp
- Spool of Endless Rope (God knows we'll need it)...2000gp
- Field Provisions Box (no more bothering about food)...2000gp
- 1500gp remaining
We'll have Lyla do the Gather Info (at +6), and if everyone else can successfully pitch in to help, she'll only need to roll a 2+ to find the buyer...pretty good chances. It'd be nice if we could haggle the price up a bit, but I'm not sure if we're capable of that.

I'll reststate my original question, since no one has given an answer as yet: Are we going straightway back to Kvatch with all haste, or shall we detour to visit the Glittereyes monument, and in the latter case, what will everyone other than Parvink be doing to bide their time?

Yeah, I'm keeping my eye on the weather, and it ain't looking good. If anything, I will make a decision by lunch. I did pick up www.fantasygrounds.com/home/, so we could still play D&D, and I have a little of the adventure set up on it. I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

Looks like the weather—or rather, the driving conditions—will not be improving much by this Friday. In the event that this is so, are we ready to give Fantasy Grounds a try? We need to do a test connection to see if multiple users can use the same key—not, most likely—or everyone will have to purchase their own copy. Fortunately, it's pretty cheap for the Lite version, and there are "package" discounts for getting multiple copies at once. I wanna friggin' game this weekend, by God!! Furthermore, I would like to move that McNurlen be allowed the use of a "Hero Point™" to keep Barbatus alive (assuming he doesn't have a new character ready). I generally liked the character, and it would be less work for McN (and consequently, everyone else involved). I would advise, though, that either he be allowed to ditch the Die Hard feat, or we revise the usage of said feat to allow it to be "turned on/off" when "inappropriate;" it's been getting him killed more than it's helped, so far.

I could turn on and off the die hard feat. But thats not the way I wanted to play it . And I have settled on a new character. A half Dragon Samurai

Samurai? That's not a class ... unless you're using the one from Oriental Adventures. What color dragon? And you do realize this means you'll be like 2nd level, right?
