Part of our agreement/experiment regarding this campaign was to be more open about how the game is working (or not), as it progresses. So, start talking.

Just one session in, right now, so it's really early, but I do have a comment: it definitely had a 4e "encounter-porn" feel to it—encounters, loosely connected by a thin plot-thread. I can't put my finger on why, or even if it's necessarily a good or bad thing, but I'll be thinking about it—if I come up with something, I'll say so.
Wasn't un-fun—just calling attention to it (in a spirit of frankness)

Comments & Observations (not complaints): - The pacing was very fast, which has its good and bad points.
- XP acquisition is equally fast. I get that this is actually how the rules recommend you get XP (the amount), but I'm just accustomed to the 1/2 XP progression of McN & my games. One thing I'd definitely recommend is not providing the XP until the end of the session - it just seems wrong to me to immediately get the XP after an encounter ends.
- Limited opportunity to role-play thus far, but no one is to blame as we're still getting a grip on the characters.

There have been opportunities, but you guys keep killing them...except for the goblin bureaucrat.

There have been opportunities, but you guys keep killing them...except for the goblin bureaucrat. To be fair, if we'd run into him first, the rest might've gone differently—or he would've just died horribly; I'm not sure. "But let's not bicker and argue about who killed who"

There have been opportunities, but you guys keep killing them...except for the goblin bureaucrat. There have? Fight sequences... - Goblins storm the inn, hurling Molotov cocktails and dropping Silas in round 1.
- Ogre strapped to cart is hurling rocks to smash buildings. Immediately shifts fire on PCs when they emerge from burning inn.
- Big bugs charged us the instant they saw us.
- Goblins attacked the instant we descended the stairwell, calling in drow reinforcement
- Wererat ... okay, we attacked him first but he was a stinking wererat!
So that's just a single opportunity...Methinks the GM is trying to retcon.

as for the goblins at the beginning of the dungeon, no one attempted a bluff or diplomacy or anything...it was "meet the end of my arrow goblin scum!"
The bugs have a 1 INT. Charge is really all they got.
The Drow would have talked if you hadn't killed him in 1 round.
That's all I'm sayin'.

i actually liked the over all feel of it...it was a bit heavy on the hack and slash and the blame for that is up in the air...but it was also the first session...i honestly don't mind the occasional all session hack and slash...another way to look at it is it got all of us alot closer 2 second level which will help with skills and other stats ... which could help with some of the roll playing so we won't be tryin to bluff / be diplomatic and have to roll 17 or higher just to get our point across ...so my vote is i like the way things are going

So ... I believe we were promised some XP and potential treasure for the final fray? Enjoyed the session - looking forward to non-goblin based adventures so the rest of the part can see that Corum isn't a callous hothead.

Don't think anyone uses the greataxe, so I think we can presume its going to get sold. The short sword several of us might use. Armor ... does it resize? If not (most armor doesn't I think), it depends on the Size. If small, then Corabelle. If medium, Corum. Nobody else will use it...

Very enjoyable side quest that turned into an actual adventure. I'm rather looking forward to next week and starting out with us in custody. Might be interesting to have a skill challenge to get through a trial ... do they even do trials in these parts? And look. Two fights, neither of which Corum instigated (or really participated in with regards to the second one.) So there. XP?

Might be interesting to have a skill challenge to get through a trial ... do they even do trials in these parts? Guess this depends how anachronistic this "world" is. Could use the Aces & Eights trial mechanic as a guide, for the anachronistic version. Realistically, it'd either be an attempt to convince the magistrate that this was all a horrible misunderstanding, and get fined or something, or a "trial by ordeal" (which may, or may not include combat). Ah, SQ in his natural element…off the track. How we've missed him

Not relevant because they weren't involved in either of the two fights I was referencing. Plus? Orcs are considered evil in the lands surrounding Brindol, so I was being proactive in that regard.
