Just wanted to float the following across the board to see if everyone is interested in using this.
In the Living Greyhawk game, they have a way of determining hit points that eliminates rolling the appropriate die. Basically, the die is halved, 1 is added to this number, and Con bonus/penalty is applied. So:
d4 = 3 d6 = 4 d8 = 5 d10 = 6 d12 = 7
Are you guys interested in using this instead of rolling for your HP?

Guess it's a good thing that there are no barbarians in my group then, huh?

So, I think we've got 2 "Sure" votes. SQ, could you clarify if you are pro-this? Thanks...

I'm willing to try it.

I think it kinda takes the "fear and excitement" out of gaining hit points, in the same way that the "point-buy" system for attributes takes away the chance that you'll end up with crazy-good/crazy-bad stats.
That being said, I really don't care one way or the other. I guess you could say I "abstain."

Hmmm. Those are valid points, Daniel. I think I'll close this for now and continue rolling HPs. I doubt anyone will have too much problem with that. Especially since it appears that only Daniel, McNurlen, Moch & SQ respond to my questions.

Nah. You're the only one who doesn't count.

Maybe this thread should be revised to reflect the current house rule, or if this is specific to one game, should be revised AND moved to that person's game forum, and made sticky?
