This will be the thread for " telegraphing your next move," along with the usual between-sessions stuff. For the kickoff, the only direction we currently have is to find a farm or something to hole up. If you have other ideas during the week, go ahead and say so.

Again, setup and character knowledge is very important. What do the PCs know about the apocalypse? Were we completely sequestered when the crap started going down? Obviously, we had the "blackout" like every one else did, but do we know that the world has gone insane?

Again, setup and character knowledge is very important. For the record, I don't expect a lot right now, because of this. That said, here are some facts that may help (which will be repeated Friday): - Tue, 26 Mar 13, late-afternoon: PCs (Goofing off? Fetching something from HQ?) get stuck in the LOB when somebody pushes a button they shouldn't; crew tries for hours to get them out
- Wed, 27 Mar 13; everybody "sleeps in" for some reason—wake up ~18:38
- Between—don't know; up to you guys what happens here, except that escape is unsuccessful, and no further contact with the crew outside occurs
- Tue, 23 Apr 13, ~03:00: Escape

Ah, with that in mind, I expect we'd be more interested in poking around and trying to find out what the hell happened with the rest of the crew.

Now, we know what the Characters know. The Players know that they are going to find that they're in the middle of a "typical" zombie-apocalypse, so you can project ahead a bit—what might the early objectives of the Characters be once they poke around (and get poked around) and realize it's all gone to hell?
(Probably back to the "farm" thing)

Farm first, then we need to get access to a Dick's Sporting Goods or Academy or that sort of thing...

Do we have wheels? If not a car dealership might be a good idea

Planned next moves: - Find out WTF is going on from The Nurse
- Replenish smokes - I forgot about this and suspect everyone else who has Addiction (tobacco) forgot as well, but it's unlikely we still have tobacco after 28 days. So we're all likely jonesing pretty hard.
- Make a plan to get somewhere safe - we need supplies, but its unlikely this place will have them, so we need a functioning vehicle and a destination in mind. What is the nearest city?
- If possible, try to make contact with any other survivors via radio or cellphone or something.

Next Week - - Agree with Rigil, look to feed the addiction
- Search the Church to see if any supplies remain
- In 28 days, I'm pretty sure most of the "supplies" in town have been depleted so either the base camp or the next closest town..either way will need a vehicle or 2 to get around
- Attempt to find either an off road shop or farm supply store to locate some jerry cans

Yeah, I was thinking we needed to locate a hopefully unlooted Academy Sports or Dick's Sporting Goods for supplies. They would have pretty much everything we needed, including camping food. If we're lucky, we might also be able to locate some weapons as well - some of them carry hunting weapons like bows and rifles...

I'd like to climb that water tower to get a better view of the situation. See if we can spot a car and a Gas station. Also look to see what type of retail is in this town.

So, the session blogging is officially begun. If you want to contribute your critiques as we have been, do so on the blog by commenting; this is not a requirement, but will be appreciated (comments are also open to the public). One thing I will require, though, is that everyone (a) register on the site, and (b) make a character-stats post. It doesn't matter where you put it—I'll get it where it's supposed to be—not does it technically matter what's on it (I'll make sure it's "proper"). The point is: I want to be able to link to the character stats in the logging posts and such, and I want those stat posts to be under your name. Also, those of you that haven't already should post your starting GCA file here so I can have a copy for my records—ideally, before any spending of earned points. I would like to keep those updated, but I wouldn't expect that to occur on a weekly basis or anything. Whatever you do, this week is the end of your grace-period on character creation: whatever you've got next Friday is locked in. Except @m. Just to answer some of the questions: - Closest city on your radar is probably going to be Topeka, and maybe Manhattan—without specific area-knowledge
- I'm assuming all addictions are "reset" at game-start

Next week: - Get booze (has addiction)
- Get information from Mr. Nurse
- Get transportation
- Propose taking a zombie alive for tests
As far as the last point is concerned my thoughts are thus: - We have no idea what the 'rules' are with these zombies... We need to know if it is an infection (what type, incubation), magic, aliens, batman or what?
- We don't know how to kill it, or if it is weak to anything... ala fire/water/electricity and it'd be good to know
- This may seem very cruel and possibly a bit inhumane, but Nicholas is under the thought that until we (after getting to relative safety) have a better idea what we're facing, making any decisions is useless since we have no clue about what these things are

Those are really good points and definitely in line with your character's thinking. My guy sure as heck wouldn't have come up with that sort of thing since he's probably still in the "Kill it with fire!" mindset...

Following within the same vein as N8's thinking, I would like to observe more of the behavioral aspects of the zombies. Maybe even do a bit of recon to see if they have any sort of social order, or hive mentality vs. just a few roaming around. Do they have behavioral patterns as in are they more active during certain times of day, or how often do they feed? And when they are hungry, are they hunters who actively look for victims or is it more of a passive thing (oh look, there's a person. I am going to Nom them). This may happen over the course of several days but the more we know about them the less we have to risk additional zombie attacks.

Desired objectives: - Replenish smokes
- Obtain additional transportation (having multiple vehicles seems more logical to me)
- Obtain food
- Obtain maps
- Attempt to make contact with any surviving governmental entities who might be able to direct us toward a safe zone (remember: he doesn't distrust the govt yet.)
- Replace clothes.
- Find the Slayer (preferably Faith rather than Buffy) and enlist her assistance.

This week is a good example to show you what I need to hear here.
The fact that you're looking for (a) booze, and (b) car parts is pretty obvious, given the location. But what about after you've looted whatever's close by? Staying here? Moving on? Keep heading West until you run out of road, stopping at every town along the way? Looking for survivors, or avoiding them? Also, since we're looting, most of what you want is going to be obvious—let me know if there's anything not obvious you're looking for.
What this does for me is lets me know if I need to, for example, develop the local townies more, or if I need to look at the next few towns down the highway.
This doesn't invalidate anything said so far; I just need you to project a little farther into the future.

I would lean toward sticking around the city and trying to figure out what's going on, maybe find some other people.

What are next step would be after securing provisions will determine what the maps tell us..I (my character) wouldn't want to venture too far off the main highway just so we don't get lost somewhere in town and we know that Main street leads straight out of town to the east (and after we look at the maps, to the west as well) we would also need to determine what our next step would be...we would need to figure out which direction holds the best chance for survival and which holds the best chance for answers and which do we want the most
