I'd like to get to some safety and begin slowly forging a small village with relative safety and then have to keep it safe

I'd like to build an army of armed folk and retake as much of this town as we can muster. Also, dig some zombie pit traps outside of town to lure some of them out of town. Find a suitable location to hq up.

I still want to try to figure out communications and learn about the scope of the problem. There might be an already established 'safe zone' that we just need to get to. That way we don't have to waste time figuring out our own fortifications when there may be one reasonably close by.

So, the plan is to hit the other radio station thing, right? We got the nifty portable radio thing, but what about a portable generator?
Also, we definitely need to get either a bigger vehicle or a second one - we're running out of room.

Some notes: - Wasn't really paying close enough attention at the time, but that CheyTac rifle is really in the wrong list—someone who had one of those probably would not lose it to some road-punks—so I'm replacing it. Rolled up H&K HK93A2, .223 Remington (TS63)—so you win a little; got one with .223 now
- Thinking about retconning a bit next week, as I let you guys have an hour of noise-making (working the radio) with no undead consequences; give you a little problem-solving trying to keep them away (assuming you don't just open fire )
- What the hell was the name of that portable radio thingy?
- Going to give SQ an extra +1 CP this week for being super-useful when I really needed it
- Like Rigil said—you really need a new/additional vehicle. You've got three squeezed into the cab, and four in the bed along with a motorcycle and a load of misc crap, now plus the radio; you are officially out of room (unless you get creative with the packing)
As usual, I need your immediate plans, and your long-term adjustments (if any)

- I'm down for getting a second vehicle (I've been trying to "locate" one for a while) because if for some reason we loose the truck, we're on foot trying to carry quite a bit of cargo
- thinking that I need to try to find another vehicle (take someone with me as eyes and ears while checking the vehicle over)
- as far as the second vehicle goes, maybe try to find a van of some kind so we'll have more cargo space in th event we need it

We need an RVNext week's goals ... find an RV. Or another truck. And maybe buy a clue or three about what the frak happened. Now that Rush Renner has calmed down, he might have some more information that he'd forgotten while facing impending doom. I think we're still in shock mode ... it's only been what? Two days since they crawled out of the hole? Just how bad things are hasn't set in fully, I expect. ETA: I stand corrected. According to the date stamps, this is the SAME DAY ...

I can totally get behind that. I'm actually leaning toward that being what some of us do - we've got the motorcycle so two of us could scout out the city at a high rate of speed and possibly find another functional vehicle. John has the Driving (motorcycle) skill at 11, so as long as we don't have to do anything fancy, he's more than capable of driving. That's what I suggest. is the H&K still a rifle or is it a different type of firearm? Google It, man!

As bad as this sounds, I think that we need to split up and go look for a large(er) vehicle (van, RV, whatever). We can cover more ground that way and increase our chances of spotting something that will work. Everyone should be armed so it is a great equalizer that we didn't have before.
The thought occurred to me after Friday and I don't know if Radio stations do this, but would there be any transcripts of past broadcasts lying around that we could have used to see if they were discussing this at some point? If Giger decides to retcon this, does that mean we would get a chance to search for those transcripts?

- You can always go back in, retcon or no
- What's with this party and "splitting up?" I swear, I've never seen a group that broke up this much

[/li][li]You can always go back in, retcon or no[/quote] Well if we did go back in, then you can whip out the zombies and we wouldn't have to retcon anything. We don't have to split up, I just think it would increase our chances of finding what we want and then we can move on.

I'm ok with splitting up to look for another vehicle, would increase the chances of finding one, although it would thin out the ranks in the event there's an attack...but could see splitting the group in to 2 parties (one with Korbin and the other with Wes since they both have automotive knowledge)
think we need at least 3 vehicles ... The truck for hauling, an RV or similar for most of the party and any NPC's, and maybe a scout type vehicle (an older Jeep if possible)

We're short SQ/Korbin this week, IIRC; I was thinking of having him do the frequency-scanning off-screen

I'm not. A HMMWV would be a really good choice if we could find a functional one.

I'm not. A HMMWV would be a really good choice if we could find a functional one. A civilian Hummer would likely be computer-controlled, but what about the military one? I presume Rigil would know if it were.

I have no recollection of there being a computer in the HMMWV, but I could be wrong. Maybe ... depending on the era?

Could always find an air museum and get a classic plane....
We desperately need a ham radio ish setup... We need to communicate!

So unless the GM throws us a carrot, where are we going to find a military grade Humvee in a one horse podunk town in the middle of nowhere?

Could always find an air museum and get a classic plane.... I don't think that getting a plane in a museum is possible. I mean we would have to do some serious work on it to get it ready to fly again. I don't know if we have the skills necessary to determine if a certain plane is sky-worthy. And even if it were sky worthy, I doubt we could scavenge enough fuel to make it sky worthy for long. Logistically there would be a lot of problems to overcome, such as getting the plane through the museum, or moving other planes to give it a clear path, or the fact that there may not be a runway near by. Not to mention doing this in a limited amount of time while there are zombies that are clamoring to eat our faces. Something else to consider is that if we do plan to eventually fly, we would ultimately be leaving our vehicles behind. So if this is something that people want to do soon, then there really isn't a point in taking time to look for vehicles we will soon abandon.

FYI (only): There are two "airports" in Council Grove; one is nothing more than a field, for cropdusting; the other has cleared strips—more likely to have aircraft there. Aircraft are designed to withstand lightning strikes, and may have survived EMP (maybe not all of the instruments, though).
Also: likelihood of spotting a civilian Hummer in this area is pretty good. A military one, rather less so. An examination of nearby cities on the map might reveal a more-likely source.
Also: I'm going to use the "Zombie Map" thing with the places un-marked as your "street map"

Yeah I was trying to find an 'airport' in Council Grove and suggest that if we do want aircraft then we should go there and yoink a plane. We would still have to pray that they would have the right type of plane and right type/amount of fuel to suit our needs. I want to figure out communications first, so I am not suggesting that we need a plane right now, but it is something to consider.
