Looks like from the polls we are starting at Level 2. Feel free taking your time creating your character. There really isn't any rush considering we are in the middle of Giger's campaign now. I don't want to have people's excitement grow cold because we rush character creation and then have to sit on it for a month before getting started. However, I'll need to have a pretty solid character from everyone 1-2 weeks out.

How are you handling Attribute generation? Previously, we generally did the 4d6, reroll 1s, drop the lowest.

Roll stats on Friday in front of everyone... 3d6, attributes in order, no re-arranging... MWAHAH

I did them on the boards. If unacceptable, I'll reroll...

Either roll on the boards or in front of me on a Friday. If you really, really want to do a point buy character, I may consider it, but you're going to have to convince me. (looking at you WxMan) ****EDIT***** If you want to do point buy you start off with 34 points. Just know you have to stick with either point buy or rolling once you decide. Meaning you can't roll, hate your stats, and then decide to do point buy.

I'm having some troubles coming up with a concept. I'm still thinking on it, I just didn't want you to think I wasn't paying attention.

We could use a roguely type.
Also, 2d level characters begin with 900gp for equipment.

Sent from my VS840 4G using proboards No worries, as I said, we have a while before this campaign. Rigil is right, you guys don't really have a rogue yet. But, of course, that doesn't mean you have to play a rogue.

That Cleric thing is not set in stone . Hence the tentatively comment at the top. I know this is an infant stage so I am expecting changes. I'll just keep updating as we go along.

For the sake of doing something new, I'll stick with the Shujenga/Monk.
I should mention that this combination will require the bending of some rules—normally, the rules for the Monk class do not allow one to leave and come back to it, but what I want to do is advance them both evenly—not exactly game-breaking.

Be advised, Giger: Monks have to be Lawful.

Be advised, Giger: Monks have to be Lawful. Wonder if it needs to be Shujenga/Ninja, Shujenga/Fighter? Depends what direction this party is going.

I've always wondered about that ... sure, kung fu monks are ideally "Lawful" in the movies, but the protagonists are never lawful, it seems. Jackie Chan's Drunken Master does a crapload of stuff you couldn't replicate in D&D without being a monk (and entering the Drunken Master PrC), but there's no way he is Lawful, even when he isn't shitfaced. A Shujenga/Ninja would be interesting ... but only if you enter a PrC that has a "ga" or "ja" sound at the end of it.

Addendum: I'm leaning toward amending my character and doing a Rogue/Swashbuckler, so if MikeE wants to do something other than a Rogue, I will probably have the trapfinding stuff handled. As a swashbuckler, though, I'm not putting a single point into hide or move silently. We don't really have a ranged guy or a blaster...

Alright, so I am looking for the party "roles":
McN - Divine Casting / Healer? Giger - Melee Support? ChrisIII - Melee Rigil - Melee Support? SQ - ? N8 - ?
If this is the case I will build my druid more towards Divine Casting / Ranged Support since we seem to be drastically lacking in that area... thoughts?

If McN's ditching Cleric, then we've lost our heal-stick. Druid can do it, but it's less efficient. I'm not feelin' the heal-stick vibe right now (which is why I was avoiding the Water Shugenja)—though I could still go there.
Thoughts?

Could even go Oracle. I think it may even be better than a cleric for pure healing...

Since we're short on melee types ATM, I'm thinking of going with a chain-fighter, probably human
