LOCATION: Neutral Grounds
DESCRIPTION: A hole-in-the-wall coffee shop that you can't really find without actively looking for. In supernatural parlance, it is Designated Neutral Territory, enforced by the Unseelie Accords. The proprietor serves exactly one thing: coffee. There are no lattes, or cappuccinos, or mochas. Just coffee. But everyone agrees, it is the best damned coffee you'll ever taste.

Oh. You're thinking along the lines of Blessed in Deadlands? Very rare.
Unless I don't grok what you mean...

Right, so in the DF universe, there really haven't been many truly "religious" characters, though Christianity clearly does exist (there are Fallen, which are exactly what you would expect, and at least one archangel has made an appearance fairly late in the series). Off the top of my head, I can only think of two actively religious Christian characters - Michael Carpenter and his wife, Charity - who appeared to possess 'kick ass for the Lord' type of powers (and he's essentially wielding Excalibur under a different name, so there.)
That said, most of the DF books takes place in Chicago, which isn't known for religiosity.
Should someone want to actually play the equivalent of a Blessed, I'm sure we could work with that. Hell, for that matter, pick a supernatural tv show or movie and I suspect we could make something work (within reason.) Want to play a Slayer? That's doable. A low-level Sidhe. Probably doable. And so on...

If that's the case then you will probably have to add Moore as well. We could do ghost busting at The Warren ;-) But I agree with adding Norman simply because OU is an interesting place that has to have a great story to go with it.

The fact that one of the intended prominent NPCs - Sofia's mentor - is based out of Norman also plays a role.
Moore too, huh? Hmm...

I'd recommend taking an Assassin's Creed approach: start with a smallish area(s) and unlock new ones at they become needed.

Heh. "What the hell do you mean I can't go to Mustang because I haven't 'unlocked' it?!" Or "What the hell ... there's this strange energy barrier blocking me from going to Norman!"

Heh. "What the hell do you mean I can't go to Mustang because I haven't 'unlocked' it?!" Or "What the hell ... there's this strange energy barrier blocking me from going to Norman!" Obviously you could still go there, there just might not be anything plot-related going on there. Depends how the game-story works, though—right now, only you know that.

So last Saturday, I did some random driving around to see places I hadn't seen before in OKC. There are a number of really awesome-looking houses out on the fringes of the city that are just a few rooms shy of being considered mansions. I saw one that was clearly built to emulate a castle (it had three towers, with pointed roofs). And then there is that Western Tower which has been painted black and looks really, really awesome. This leads to Themes and Threats. I've currently only got two, but I really wanted three, so I started thinking ... "The City of Exiles." My thought is that various supernatural entities have been sort of exiled to OKC by their masters as a sort of penance for whatever "crime" they've committed but (sort of like Fables), they are hidden from sight by glamours and forbidden from revealing themselves. Obviously, it won't be relevant at first, but I thought it might interesting... Thoughts?

I'm probably going to go driving around again this weekend, though I'm not going to have my phone on my belt but rather prepped for photos.

If you're going to go out on Saturday, be sure to do it in the morning. Right now, the weather is shaping up to get pretty bad in the afternoon/evening. But now that I think about it, a terrible storm will do wonders for Red Sky atmosphere

Potentially. I'm still letting the exact specifics percolate, but I am leaning toward that. It would be amusing, I think, if you had to go into the sewers in Chicago to track down something that goes bump in the night, but in OKC, you have to go into the country.

You laugh. I read a book called "Monster Hunters: International" (which was essentially gun porn, combined with supernatural monsters) and their elves were trailer park trash. One of the characters a huge fantasy geek and he was unbelievably let down when he met those elves.
