When is this being run - it'll depend whether or not I can play in it - assuming I'm allowed

If I grok, he's probably going to start the week after next (with this week being my planned arc finale). Then, like me, he can pick it up as needed whenever we have a free night or three? Maybe slide it into the regular rotation...

Some follow-up questions: - When is this set? TOS was set in mid to late 2260s. Are we post that? During that?
- Disposition of the ship. Is this a brand new, just off the line ship with no history or is it one that's had multiple commanders in the past (e.g., NCC-1701 which had two COs before Kirk, CAPTs April and Pike)?
- Disposition of the crew. Have we all served together for a while or are we just coming together? It's the difference between how TOS kicked off (everyone had been aboard Enterprise for a while so this was an in media res beginning) and how all of the other shows started where the crew is assembled from scratch.
- Do you have ... racial templates would be the best way to phrase it, I guess, for canon species like Vulcans or Andorians should a player want to play one?
- Are you setting this in the original timeline or the rebooted one? Am presuming the former, but wanted to verify. (Amusingly, I actually like the reboot uniforms a little better, but that's just cause the quality is better looking now.)
- How does XP in this system work? You mentioned there being a reward/bonus/something for "log entries" but how does that work for someone who has a tendency to write more than they should (cough*me*cough)

You will have left in early 2265.
The Verdant has had 1 commander before this, Captain Caj Jadan. It was mostly it's first trial runs and early missions. They worked out most of the bugs and never saw combat.
Currently, you have been in command for roughly 6 months. You are not worried about the capability of your ship, but are about the combat readiness of its crew.
Primary Mission: The USS Verdant has been tasked with investigation of the unmanned facility on Delta Vega. The USS Enterprise recommended a quarantine be set up, but the communique was vague in reference to two dead crew members. Ensure that nothing has broken the quarantine. Secondary: Defend Federation Territories and aide Federation vessels in need.

Delta Vega, huh? Man, we're starting pretty early in the timeline then, aren't we? That's like the pilot episode, I think. CDR Prescott has totally requested the PCs for this assignment. He's reviewed their records and called in every favor he could think of (and a couple he made up). So don't let him down.

Also, for log entries or journal entries, I will give 1 extra benny the game after the entry was written. In my opinion, benny's should be used in other places than combat. I've also realized that I've been less than forgiving in giving the damn things out. They should flow a little more. This is also to help me along in the vein.

If everyone gets one of those, SQ has to dress up like Q (which is, now that I think of it, appropriate )

Do Humans get an extra edge at creation (Thus start with two) or are they the only ones that start with a free edge at creation (Only one)?

They are the only race that start with a free edge. Everyone else had to get extras with disadvantages.

Am thinking CDR Prescott is going to order the use of excursion jackets while on landing parties, which can be seen here (page down a little bit), though I don't think this would be more than "Body Armor" in SciFi companion. I would actually prefer something like Colossus X armor from Mass Effect (which would probably be combat armor in the SciFi companion?) but only in known assault ops (e.g., "Admiral SoAndSo has been captured by extremists who are holding her for ransom. Get in there and get her back.") There's also these in the first reboot movie: Suits. That would be maybe the Glide Suit (Sci Fi companion, p17) And I am totally requisitioning a phaser rifle next time.
