STAR TREK: VERDANT
COMMANDER Trevor Prescott:
LIEUTENANT COMMANDER (XO) Nytalia StryderPic Forthcoming (Maggie Q with black eyes since character is Betazoid.)
LIEUTENANT COMMANDER (ChEng) Zeke SzymanskiLIEUTENANT COMMANDER (Doctor, CMO) Ryaan KelleyPic Forthcoming (ironically, PC chose same actor that played Gary Mitchell)
1x01: "Man on the Run" Stardate 1760.6. Visit to Ceti Alpha. Retrieved Dr. Smythe. CMN Smith nearly eaten by worms but survives. We dropped rocks on them and had Verdant shoot them from orbit. Encounter with Klingon vessel under CAPT Tavar. USS Verdant kicked their ass and sent Klingons running. Mission successful.
1x02: "Love the One You're With" Stardate 1984.3 - To Delta Vega. Discover it is a M-Class instead of J or G. XO passes out (due to mind blast thing). QUEEN (Elizabeth Dehner) hails, thinks Dr. Kelley is Gary Mitchell. Transports Kelley and they fight where he clocks her with battle-tricorder. We beam him up, convince her to stop freaking out. CDR, CMO, ChEng and SecChf beam down, converse but she goes psycho again. Firefight ensues. She locks down (telepathically) our transporter guy. CO shoots her a couple of times. ChEng shoots weapon of one of her automatons and explosion knocks everyone flying. SecChf shoots her again and things get whacky. Emergency beam-out. Planet returns to crappy class.
1x03: "Peace Frog" Stardate 2078.9. While ferrying diplomats from the warring planets, Antica and Selay, back to their home after successfully negotiating a peace treaty, Verdant detects distress beacon. Investigate and discover an Antican ship crammed with explosives, intended for Selay homeworld. Rescue injured Antican. Return to ship and bad things start happening as Selayan spy hacks systems and tries to set Verdant on ramming course at Antica homeworld. Capture spy, but in the process lose 3 engineering crewmen and 2 security. Prescott threatens ambassadors to keep the peace or Starfleet will be back, this time with battleships.
1x04: "Dazed and Confused" Stardate 2092.4. We proceed to Rigel X because ChEng needs quantum buffer circuit. While in a shop, ran into CAPT Tavar. Insults are exchanged. We learn that Prescott's mother is an admiral and sent some Klingons packing in some big, important battle. Fight breaks out. Learn Prescott is a practioner of Martian Kickboxing. We kicked their ass w/Prescott accounting for 3 of 4 TKOs (the doc got the other & Zeke held off the two without injury.) Heard police approaching. Beam out. Prescott beams in somewhere other than ship and finds himself surrounded by Atticans with phaser weapons pointed at him.
1x05: "Hair of the Dog" Stardate 2100.2. Back to Selay. Verdant has tracked CDR Prescott to the Antican embassy here. Four marines are beamed down to retrieve their abducted commander and promptly get into several firefights; they are unaware that Prescott breaks free at that exact moment and engages his interrogator, killing him and two other security officers with his hands still bound. He retrieves a pistol and kills another Antican with this captured sidearm. Below, the marines lose one man - PFC Del Rey who is KIA - but reduce the Antican defenses to nil. They also beam up all stunned guards. CDR Prescott is retrieved and everyone is beamed back aboard. Rather than turn over the Anticans to Selay authorities, Prescott decides to hand them over to SFC. Verdant then detects a distress signal from Delta Vega and respond to it. Some days later, Prescott, DR Kelley, ChEng Szymanski and PO3 Smith beam down to investigate. They discover signs of a struggle (as well as some sort of airborne neural toxin) and follow blood trail, but are set upon by a
monster. Smith is badly injured, Szymanski is lightly injured but CDR Prescott and DR Kelley managed to bring the beast down.
1x06: "The Boys Are Back In Town" Continued from the previous. The team planetside - minus Doctor Kelley and PO3 Smith who have beamed up, but with Crewman Pyle - continue onward but find themselves ambushed! At the same time, LCDR Stryder is in command just as a Klingon bird-of-prey attacks! Violence ensues, resulting in the absolute destruction of the Klingon ship although the
Verdant does not escape unscathed. Planetside, the away party must defend against the ambushing Klingons and win through without taking injury. Afterward, CDR Prescott orders the surviving Klingons retrieved from the world and secured in the brig, discovering that Captain Tavar was killed but his son blames Prescott still. They will be turned over to Starfleet Command and the Federation means to use these prisoners in order to get their own people back. Crew of the Verdant is decorated for their recent actions but everyone can tell that the situation with the Klingons is getting worse...
1x07: "
We Got To Get Out Of This Place". Stuff happened. Rats and lizards and dead guys. New science dude joined the show. Prescott barely present. (Someone else will need to populate what happened since I missed it all.) Props to Giger for the ep name.
1x08: "
Born on the Bajou." Boarding action. Obtain the planetary coordinates while fending off Deader assault. ChEng badly injured, CO lightly, no other casualties. Proceed to lizard home planet to discover a battleship present. Attempts to make peaceful contact fail as battleship charges forward on attack run. Combat ensues - Verdant again emerges triumphant, blasting apart the much larger, much heavier warship thanks to a combination of good planning, better execution and fantastic cooperation among the bridge crew. During battle, science officer determines battleship crewed entirely of deaders. Following battle, Verdant inches closer to planet and discover no survivors. Withdraw, with new gunnery officer who might be the last of his species...
1x09: "Crazy Train." Encounter strange anomaly that blasts lightning at ship. BAM! Suddenly, CDR Prescott wakes to find himself in 1953 as a patient in an aslyum. He sees other members of his crew, but none of them recognize him. He plays along for a bit, then finds a crew member who seems self-aware as well. When that crewman is subjected to electroshock therapy, Prescott stops playing the game and gets violent. Fight ensues. He escapes through a portal-door and wakes to find the ship is under assault. He leads the rest of his crew against the anomaly and they end up destroying it. Afterward, he shares some of his bizarre experiences with his XO, LCDR Stryder, who is his oldest friend.
1x10: "Breaking the Law." Stardate 2976.81. In orbit over Oslion VII. CDR Prescott and LCDR Stryder in diplomatic discussions with local feudal (but warp-capable) government. Lieutenant Watchowski leads landing party to large mountain to investigate strange atmospheric anomalies. With dirtside, he becomes separated from the rest of the landing party and discovers a woman about to be accosted by a bestial humanoid, prompting Watchowski to shoot him and free her. He is promptly captured by locals for breaking a hallowed law and taken to city where he is imprisoned. Woman turns out to be princess meant to be sacrifice Watchowski is visited by her that evening for a quick, romantic interlude. Next morning, he finds himself pushed into an impromptu wedding with the princess (Ahn'na) before taken to a coliseum where he is to undergo trial by combat. Given his phaser, but he doubt it will fire correctly. Massive dragon-like thing emerges, breathes fire, bellows, and charges. Heroic fight ensues! Watchowski sets his phaser to explode and, just as its about to go off, throws it into the dragon's mouth. Phaser explodes in dragon's stomach, killing it instantly. Watchowski brought before king and queen again and hailed as hero who will lead them against their vile enemies...
