So here is the concept: He grew up with somewhat of a silver spoon. Great classical education - history, art, music, culture, mathematics, physics, engineering, the works. He got a nice white collar job doing R&D from a big military contractor. Years of giving them his best only to have them copyright the technology and pass him over for promotions made him more and more frustrated until he finally went out on his own - working on guns, ships, vehicles, or anything else that could be tinkered on in the grey market for anyone who could pay. Eventually he got a reasonable amount of notoriety for having some unique kit that could fetch a pretty penny - something that attracted the attention of a gunrunner known as Calista Beaumont. When Calista struck, instead of just robbing Zennith, they determined they'd be better off working together - and that is when their bonnie and clyde-esque relationship began. Now they find themselves aboard the Exeter(?) with Tulk and AJ where they smuggle, salvage, invent, or whatever is needed to keep them afloat. So that is the basic concept to start with. I figured he'd have to have reasonably high intelligence or dex, depending on what the skills that are required for engineering/gadgetering/modifying weapons, ships, vehicles, whatever. He likely won't have all that high skill in weapon usage, instead relying on all of his modifications of his weapon to compensate for his bad skills. Disads would likely be enemies that Calista has made, but possibly a minor enemy against the company I worked for (they may not even know about it). Personality wise he'll be like James May. Kind of low level OCD, lays all tools out piece by piece meticulously, follows all instructions, etc etc. Would have odd interests in music (plays piano), wine, painting (he probably paints with wet-on wet oils [think Bob Ross]), literature - so some points in those would be nice - even if they don't necessarily come up in game I am trying to flesh him out as a real person, not just a combat monster or something. He'd likely know how to handle 0g and a vac suit to work on ships in drydock and whatnot. Hopefully that should be enough info to cover getting started making him. I really appreciate y'all helping with it as it is beyond me and you guys know the system's in and outs so much better.

I'm leaning toward Academician or Starship Engineer from Traveller: Interstellar Wars, but neither one of them really works entirely correctly. This sounds sort of like Reputation, but is it a negative rep or a positive one within a small circle? He sounds like IQ 13, maybe DX 12. Armoury skills for anything that's personal (Body Armor for personal armor, Small Arms for weapons used with Beam Weapons and Guns), Engineer and Mechanic for stuff like modifying a ship. The Gadgeteer advantage is cinematic so it's right out, but the Gizmo might be available (GM call.) Definitely need to know what her enemy is in terms of points. Against the Company? Or just a person in the company? Hmm ... Compulsive Behavior sounds like? Or Obsession? Yeah, these skills are easy enough to add in.

DX will likely be 10—average; all the engineering-type skills will be IQ. He might have some extra Manual Dexterity for fine-control.
From Pyramid 3/21 Cyberpunk, "Keeping it Real" Behind the Claw lists a bunch of local corporations; could pick from one of those or make one up
As far as I'm concerned, Compulsive Behavior (OCD) is fine as-is

Totally meant to work on this on Sunday but ... well, I didn't. I blame Baldur's Gate...

Well, it is a lot less urgent now. Maybe I'll toy around with it in a couple weeks when things settle back into a groove

Working character. Giger may wish to review, at least for languages. I went with High Vilani, Low Vilani and Earth German (dead language) (written) to reflect the randomness of his interests. Dropped the Enemy since his wife will have that in her stats. As requested, he's not super great when the shooting starts, but that's okay
