Personal Details: Son of two lesser known (read: created for this) Joes from the second incarnation of the Team, JON WAYNE (yes, he's heard the jokes. All of them.) grew up not knowing much about his parents as both were killed in action when he was a child, ironically at the same battle. His mother was Slipstream, a fighter pilot who was shot down after taking out almost ten Cobra [planes], and his father was Roughshod, a special forces officer who died extracting numerous POWs from the terrorist camp. Bounced from one foster family to another, Jon grew up resenting both the Teams and the military in general. As a result, he wanted nothing to do with either.
At 14, Jon joined a Catholic mission into Burma on a humanitarian mission ... though in his case, it was less about believing in the case and more about wanting to get away from his crappy life. This was intended to be just for the summer so he could return to school in the fall, but unluckily for him and the mission, they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time as Cobra-backed insurgents conducted a bloody coup, Over the next nine years, Jon learned how to survive in a hostile environment where everything is out to kill you. He and one other person, ISABELLA, would be the only survivors of the missionary mission, though by the end, she was barely holding it together and broke down completely when a covert team of Joes inserted into the region to initially conduct recon.
Once extracted from the ongoing civil war, Jon's skillset and years of operating in a 'kill-or-die' environment led him to realize that he no longer fit into the civilian world. This was made especially apparent to him when Izzie joined a convent in a desperate attempt to atone for the lives that she had taken in order to survive. She remains his only real connection to the outside world, and they meet frequently ... even though her vows should preclude this.
Recruited by the Joes, his learned ruthlessness in Burma was quickly identified as a major hindrance and he was sent to the Carnage Corps for retraining.
