So when is the actual start of the game?

I thought that Rigil was going to start Red Sky

I was going to but I'm about to start my Saturday run (not sure exactly when, but soon, I expect) and didn't want to try and run two games simultaneously. Once that run is complete - expecting 2 months - I'll prep to run RS and give WxMAN a breather for a bit.

I did say I'm not running Terra Nova right now, but I am continuing to work on it anyway, as if I were. McN's work situation could turn on him at any time, or something else could come up. Plus, if he'd be willing to hear it, I'm fairly confident I could talk him into playing anyway—but I won't do that right now; I'll wait till it matters. Or we get new players, etc. So, don't let it fall off your radar just yet.
N8's advice has helped, and work is progressing. Once I get TN to a sufficiently runnable state, I'll go back to Generica, probably (which I could end up running in GURPS instead).

Not wanting to be upstaged by N8 , I figured now is the time to throw my hat in and start to prep something. As of right now I can do one of the two options presented: 1. Continue to run Tales on the Archaic Seas- You guys have recently been transported into Faerie and will have to fight you way through to get back home. 2. Do an experimental 5th edition campaign- I recently acquired the literature for fifth edition and it has piqued my interest. The overall opinion with the gaming community is fairly positive, so I'm perfectly willing to take away our 5th edition V-card with a short campaign to try it out. If we like it, we can continue. So let me know which you prefer. Feel free to discuss, but in the end majority wins.

I don't mind trying out 5th edition, but it seems like here we go again with starting over again

We need to give 5e a trial-run at some point—whenever—but unless it's the most amazing thing, I expect we'll stick with 3.5 in general.
You could always combine #1 and #2

For the record whichever way we vote this in no way will affect me running Kingmaker and I still plan on going all the way through it, assuming player interest stays with it

Doesn't mean I won't come back to TAS...I just wanted to give us an opportunity to try some 5e and see if we like it. If you don't want to start something new then vote for TAS

I'm willing to give 5E a try. So, are we thinking WxMAN's first run of Kingmaker, then I run Red Sky, then 5E, then back to Kingmaker, etc.?

That is what I imagine, unless Giger wants to get in on the action whenever he feels like he is ready. If we don't like 5e after the first run then I will switch back to TAS, but keep the GM order the same.

unless Giger wants to get in on the action whenever he feels like he is ready. I should fit in there somewhere. Probably best for me to break up the Medieval Fantasy stuff.

Cool...looks like I will run a 5th Edition campaign to get our feet wet. I don't plan on it being too long to start...maybe 8 weeks or so, and then we can see if we like it enough to keep going. So as of right now I'll plan to run after Rigil.

A reminder to whomever is running after Red Sky: this Friday (3/18/2016), we will be doing chapter 3 of "Death Curse." This will be my intended halfway point of this installment and will thus leave me 3 sessions until I'm done. Granted, this could possibly extend a week or two according to absences or cancelled games, or it might end after 5 chapters instead of 6 depending on PC actions. In any event, I'm looking at a planned "end of this run" date of 4/8/2016, and the next GM can take over on 4/15/2016.
Just a reminder because I recall WxMAN saying (when I thought he was resuming Kingmaker after me) that he needed a couple weeks of warning.
Speaking of: what are we doing next anyway?

I feel pretty good about being able to run the GURPS Traveller bit at this point, though I have been having trouble focusing on dealing with the pregame issues (for some obvious reasons and some not-so-obvious). I think, at this point, I'd probably want to do a 1-night get-on-the-same-page/settings-and-preferences/finalize-characters session would be advisable. And as always, the longer it takes to get around to it, the more likely I will end up flipping to something else.
But that all said, if N8's ready to go now (or smells a storm coming and wants to get to it before he can't), I'm cool with that as well.

So you're thinking that we plan on 4/15 being the 1-night get-on-the-same-page/settings-and-preferences/finalize-characters session would be advisable then?

So you're thinking that we plan on 4/15 being the 1-night get-on-the-same-page/settings-and-preferences/finalize-characters session would be advisable then? Yes, that would be when that would happen (and could still happen if N8's good to go, too)

Nope. We're looking forward to being space people. In space. And doing spacey things. But not like Kevin Spacey. Or maybe like him. Who knows?
